NWR: Crazy Hunter Review

NWR: I'm not going to start this review with a pithy one-liner, something like, "This chicken isn't dropping golden eggs." I'm certainly not going to employ game-themed hyperbole, so don't expect me to say, "I would rather walk into a gator's mouth than play this anymore." Instead, I'm just going to distill the game down to a single phrase: there is absolutely zero reason for anyone who has ever or will ever live to play Crazy Hunter.

The controls work well for the most part. This game is moderately fun in small bursts. It took me several dozen attempts to simply finish the game, but when I did, I found myself not wanting to dive back in and challenge my high score. The concept feels like it would be much more comfortable at an actual arcade or carnival than converted into a handheld video game. However, if you are looking for a deeper gameplay experience or more action than just a few levels, you may be better off trying out a few of DSiWare’s other offerings.

Pocket Gamer: Crazy Hunter Review

Pocket Gamer: I wouldn't for a moment suggest that all games need to have stories as well-written and comprehensive as Lord of the Rings. But they should at least be coherent.

Crazy Hunter doesn't come close to attempting this. Although its faults run deeper than a nonsensical setup, its bizarre narrative is symptomatic of a general lack of care.
