IncGamers: EA Canada’s NHL series is part of what I like to call the Golden Trio of sports games. Alongside Fifa and 2K Sports’ NBA 2K, NHL is a wonderful example of what a sports simulation can be. Perhaps even more than the other two, it looks like, feel likes and screams all things ice hockey as soon as that rink comes into view and the skates glide across the ice.
In short, it’s one of the very best.

Played the early release, as I have since EA has brought it out. I've played the NHL series since 2003, and this year is a step in the wrong direction. Here's how to play NHL 13 to win: If you have the puck take a weak shot low pad then bang in the rebound, if you don't have the puck spam poke check(don't worry about drawing a penalty because you won't) till you have the puck, then repeat step one. Hits and stick lifts are in the game, but they slow you down and are 10x more likely to draw a penalty, or take your player horribly out of position than poke check.
