NZ Gamer - It’s always pleasing to see local game developers ‘getting down to business’ and producing great game titles. Wellington lads Sidhe, and their pint-sized pocket studio PikPok, have been doing just that in recent years. But they have only put their ‘publishing stamp’ on this latest release. Twang the Fox has instead been developed by Conix Games – a UK based company of two who have ‘poured their heart and soul’ into it.
Pocket Gamer: It might have a name that would make Bill Oddie blush, but Twang the Fox turns out to be a (literally) uplifting tale of a miraculously acrobatic fox family kidnapped by the nefarious Boscoe Carnivale.
It's your job, as titular daddy Twang, to set out on an upwardly mobile mission to free your kin.
Back in the real world, that all translates to a game focused on bouncing up screen-width stages by drawing tiny trampolines with your finger. Small trampolines send Twang whooshing at speed while larger platforms cause him to arch more gracefully into the air.
AppSpy: A cute animal and a cute premise meant to entice the younger players, and while the gameplay is not too taxing, it's not entirely enjoyable either, mostly due to the pacing.
