On September 9, 1999 (9.9.99), Sega released its last home gaming system in North America. The Dreamcast was ahead of its time in many ways. It had a built-in modem for playing titles like Phantasy Star Online over the Internet. It also featured the first console game, Alien Front Online, with online voice chat and downloadable content.
