"BioShock Infinite is scheduled to arrive on Xbox 360 on February 23, 2013. But could 2K Games be planning the next title in the series, BioShock 4? A inside source has told us that this may in fact be true."
Thats what I was thinking, BioShock Infinite isn't classed as Bishock 3, hell to be honest I still think it's a spin off using the brand name to sell more units. I think it should of been called Areoshock or Skyshock for example
Bioshock 3 would surley come out before Bioshock 4, counting BioShock Infinite as the third instalment would just confuse people.
sorry but Bioshock does not imply underwater in rapture, bioshock implies a bio shock, or in this series of games, genetically altering your genes with plasmids. Infinite has plasmids and that means it is just as bioshock as the first 2 games.
exactly my point, where does bio imply that it is underwater and has to be set in rapture?
You say that infinite should be called "Aeroshock or skyshock" and not bioshock. Then you say in your other comment that the system refers to the "system" that the Ai runs on. That is the same a BIO referring to changing your DNA with plasmids, a theme that is continued in bioshock infinite.
you pretty much proved my point that the games are not named based on their settings and that a change in settings does not mean it should have a different name.
No I mean people wouldn't realte System shock to that, they would relate it more with it being set in Space, like how they relate Bioshock with being underwater even though Bio dosen't mean water.
It's the setting which people have attached to the franchises name, not what they mean. It's just what has happened...
To have a Bioshock game set in the Sky seems like a wasted oppounity when you could of had a new Shock IP and continued Bioshock in the sea below. Besides Kev Levine has said it won't even realte to Bioshock, so again the question, whats the point relating it to Bioshock when it has nothing to do with the first games.
I believe this is possible. I am sure there will be all kinds of DLCs to lead the story from Infinite to 4. Maybe Infinite is all just a nightmare of a Big Daddy--and wake up in the chaotic world of 4! =-D
They should just make a online BioShock game where new DLCs are released every month and maps. Make it a fun RPG and MMO type game. Liked your article.
I would like to see the next one be a spiritual sequel to System Shock. I know SS3 will not come out. But it would be cool to see what Ken Levine could do with outer space like he did on SS but taking place in the Bioshock universe.
With all the different consoles out then there are endless possibilities. Much like Assassin's Creed 3 for consoles and then the entirely other title Assassin's Creed III Liberation. There are so many ways that this could come about. I hope they do it in a way that stays true to the fans as well.
there is no bioshock 3 yet people are getting titles all messed up just like call of duty...thank about it you got cod 4 mw 1....the rest are cod waw,mw2,bo,mw3,bo2 but so far there hasnt been a cod5 but yet somehow we are on cod 8
I can't think of better proof of this being a crock of shit than the writing quality and editing of the article, and even the PREVIEW here, is so rife with errors an elementary student wouldn't make.
I'd like if Bioshock had a dark theme, if it was long enough you should play as two characters, one is set during the days in which Rapture is being build and Andrew Ryan is just now getting investments and pulling away from the goverment and your just a lowly worker(No goverment ties.)
And you try to stop him. and then flash fword to a NOW setting as his adult son or daughter who has the blue prints to rapture and either go back to a now horrible rapture since its been trashed and mainly collect proof of everything that has gone on to expose him, the benefactors who helped him and so fworth and so on.
That would be amazing! I love a combination of all of the games into one solid game.
I wouldn't buy Bioshock 4 unless it was made by Irrational Games
I hope this is true!
I'll take a real sequel over Infinite any-day...
Sequels are a sure thing, I guess.
