SEAL from Bin Laden Raid is a ‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter’ Consultant

If you’re making a military first-person shooter that’s enamored with authenticity, one like Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which has been seen often espousing the livelihoods of its story’s Tier One operators, it always helps to have a good set of consultants.

We’re categorizing this one as exceptional.

so i expect total shit accuracy in this game. a real seal would have shot him in each limb and hauled him in to be waterboarded in pork juice. lame.

GoldenGamer4677d ago

About as extreme as it gets really.

Moby-Royale4677d ago (Edited 4677d ago )

Are YOU a "real" Seal?

What's that? You're just a punk on a keyboard? Oh...

At least you can admit it.

I think showing not only skill with the headshot, but restraint by only doing what was necessary is what a man does.

But no. He should also rip out his fingernails with pliers and scalp him too.

Wow.

@Heart

Your saying that as if you can hold a gun right/straight while a bunch of other people are looking for you, in a place where everyone hates you and wants you dead... Your a lame

MattyG4677d ago

To the people raging about this comment, I think it was a joke about how unrealistically Seals are portrayed in video games. But that's just how I saw it.

HebrewHammer4677d ago

So expect a few crashed helicopters as well. Badum chhhhhh!

AO1JMM4676d ago

You know shit about SEALS then.

topekomsi4676d ago

Actually they are trained in capture or kill missions, that is they have any suspicion of danger they can use the ole 1,2. Chest Then head. SOP

I don't get the point of saying these things. The game will still have those slow motion explosions and unrealistic things to make the game fun. Play ARMA if you're looking for a simulator

one2thr4676d ago (Edited 4676d ago )

Well its been proven that whenever a person gets a pump of adrenaline due to their life being in danger. Their eyes will become more focused and their brain will become more active, and in doing so it will increase the amount of "frames" it can process and by this phenomena, it is possible to say that in a life or death situation, people have the power to slow down time (not in a literal sense, and not portrayed in this game[probably])

**Excuse the lack of proper punctuation**

pompombrum4676d ago (Edited 4676d ago )

Sweet so when someone shoots at me I'll be able to dodge bullets like neo? Regardless of trying to explain slow motion, he makes a good point that if you want a real military simulation, go play ARMA.

Soldierone4676d ago

And if Arma was a totally realistic simulator, once you die you wouldn't be allowed to play the game ever again....

pompombrum4676d ago

Well if you want to take that approach, shouldn't it force you to take a break and eat your rations? What about digging holes for your poop?

ARMA is as close to a military simulation as you will get. EA wouldn't make one because they know it has limited appeal.

I enjoyed the last medal of honor, I thought it was good game given a bad for no real good reason.

I never understood why it was OK to shoot nazis and russians (Murder russians in MW2) but not ok to shoot or be shot by al qaeda.

Anyway, hopefully Warfighter has better story than BF3, I know these games are about multiplayer and all, but when you have a SEAL giving you input, it has to make for some interesting story scenarios.

Soldierone4676d ago

I don't think it was shooting at them that was the issue, it was that it let the opposing team play as them online. They had to switch it to "opposing force" because of the media whining.

In the single player they were still referenced as Al Qaeda.

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

127maXimus44d ago

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
