Head over to Gaming Console Network for the latest screenshots for the upcoming Nintendo DS flight Sim/Shooter "Spitfire Heroes: Tales of the Royal Air Force".
WorthPlaying writes: "Spitfire Heroes: Tales of the Royal Air Force is a flight combat game based on the book series by the same name. The focus, as the name implies, is on the European side of things, where you'll take control of a British pilot who is tasked with a variety of missions set against the backdrop of World War II.
While Spitfire Heroes presents an interesting concept for Nintendo's handheld (there aren't a lot of WWII fighter pilot games, after all), the actual execution feels incredibly shoddy, with some horrible visuals and a difficulty curve that'll have you wanting to break your DS in two after the first mission, even on the easiest difficulty selection."
Spitfire Heroes does little to distinguish itself among a myriad of middling flight combat games on the DS.
The Good
* Impressive, artistic cutscenes
* Tight controls.
The Bad
* Terrible, pixilated environments
* Missions are repetitive and uninspired
* Multiplayer is limited and requires multiple cartridges
* Even the easiest setting is quite a challenge.
Flying games are always tricky for sure. Man that screen is so rocking! er... well not really. Sounds like there is a few things wrong with this title :( never good to not know how high up you are or your speed
Get ready to turn the tide in the aerial battles that shaped the outcome of World War II! Destineer and developer Big John Games are proud to announce that Spitfire Heroes: Tales of the Royal Air Force for Nintendo DS has shipped to stores, and will be available on February 27th.
