Wait! There is one! The first Mortal Kombat movie was an excellent movie based on a game lol.

coolbeans2785d ago

Indeed, it's like she was made for that terrible role.

AntoineDcoolette2785d ago

That was the second Mortal Kombat movie which is legitimately a steaming pile of horse crap.

LightofDarkness2785d ago

It was far from excellent. Its campiness and cheese factor were counterbalanced by a competent narrative and some entertaining action sequences, which made it fun and enjoyable despite its obvious flaws.

Baka-akaB2785d ago

BUt the camp was from the game , as it was it perfectly respected the franchise and thus remain the best game adaptation yet .

The source material has to be good for movie too , something always forgotten by holywood

Kin23g2785d ago

-Resident Evil: Degeneraton.
-Silent Hill movies.
-Prince of Persia.

All were decent.

victoryscreeeeeech2785d ago

In all honesty I would rather have a shhittly movie plot if it means the next game in the franchise has a great plot or story

victoryscreeeeeech2785d ago

@nerd killer like for example, if the next assassins creed game has a bad story because the script was replaced so that the old on can be used for a movie, i dont want that. i dont want writers working on a story for the movie if it means that the next game installment is halfassed. i dunno if those 2 things coincide but if they are i dont want that to happen, sorry for my grammer

smashcrashbash2785d ago

No it wasn't. It was so bad it was bad

Xander-RKoS2785d ago

No it was bad enough to be great. I love that movie.

Lord_Sloth2785d ago

I've enjoyed a few game to movie titles. The RE movies are not among them.

Wizziokid2785d ago

The first Resident Evil was good imo but it just went waaaaay downhill from there to the point where it just seems they are trying to make it bad

MilkMan2785d ago

Please, these Resident Evil movies are fantastic. Even if they don't follow the games to the TEE. They entertain. Resident Evil isn't Shakespeare. Which you have to follow upon hollowed ground. These movies take what is most entertaining and fun and put them together for your viewing pleasure.

Whats not to like?
I swear the older I get the more retarded gamers are becoming.

Baka-akaB2785d ago (Edited 2785d ago )

They are bad on every level imo . I wouldnt know it's from an established franchise , i would still find it bad and badly directed .

Nowadays people seems to accept the idea that popcorn movies and action blockbuster should be and can be mediocre as long as it got sfx . I just dont agree , even more so when there are still excellent action flick out there .

Stuff like the expendables are fun and brainless ride , but still done with flair and skills

MilkMan2785d ago

I wouldn't care if the movies where based on a game and the Expendables is a bad example of a well done, brainless pop-corn movie. That movie has more cliches, and sh!t blowing up everywhere that I know what to do with it.
But its cool, because its meant to entertain.
So who cares?
Again, when I sit there with my drink and tub of heart-attack on my lap I ain't looking for high-brow drama, especially from a movie called Resident Evil.

Just wanna see Milla kick some ass, and see some of the my fav characters kick some ass, and then go home and do my girl.

That's it. I don't care if I or the audience wont be able to tell its from an established game franchise. For that matter neither does Capcom.

Cause at the end of the day, they make bank.

Baka-akaB2785d ago (Edited 2785d ago )

I did say that expandable is a brainless movie , but its direction is miles above anything done by Anderson . That's my point .

I dont care if you got a cheesy plot for a popcorn movie , but it should be well directed , there is no excuse for it not to be .
