Let’s get this out of the way; Sleeping Dogs isn’t a bad game, Where some long-forgotten series manage to rise from the ashes as a phoenix, Sleeping Dogs is nothing more than a poor-man’s version of Grand Theft Auto IV that had a baby with Batman: Arkham City, but for some reason it still costs $60.
Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."
You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is
That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.
Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
The past few years have seen some excellent open-world titles on top of the existing classics. Here are some of the very best that you should play.
watching the video is better then going through 31 pages of gamingbolt.
Do they explain in the video why there are two numbers 3? Starfield and Tears of the Kingdom?
GF365: "Here are eight games that need sequels. These games are ones that players would love to experience another time, bigger and better."
Bloodborne is a game I still restart and play every few months. I would welcome just a re release in 60fps with a visual upgrade. It's a perfect game. If I was king for a day I would include the randomizer mods because then it would be a kind of rogue like and I could play it forever.
"Sleeping Dogs is nothing more than a poor-man’s version of Grand Theft Auto IV" I don't think it was ever trying to be a GTA clone. Not every open world game that has shooting is trying to be like GTA.
Awesome game. I certainly do not think it was a poor mans GTA at all.
We all have a right to an opinion. That being said, we all have a right to think one's opinion sucks.
In this case, I think your opinion of the game sucks, explosion.
Sites like this are the reason why we get mainstream crap for videogames. Someone tries something new, that has some resemblance to another, and it gets trashed for it.
While we're at it, let's all dress exactly the same.
It's nice to see new franchises like Sleeping Dogs, and Dragon's Dogma to experiment with existing ideas and take them to new directions.
6.5....another website clearly begging for hits...yawn.
Having played GTA IV (which in my opinion, GTA hasnt been fun since San Andreas), with its stupid "love/girlfriend" mini games, "clothes changing" system from hell, redundant missions....Sleeping Dogs was much more refreshing, fun to play. A new location, beautiful Hong Kong, Varied missions, good voice acting, (not sure where you thought it was bad ...buts thats your opinion), there is even a fighting system, which in GTA...oh wait there isnt any in GTA......
Is it smaller than GTA?, sure, but it was well executed and looks SO nice, but most importantly its FUN.
This is a solid 8.5 in my book based on the fun factor. The points lost would be only for some of the little bugs and the lenght of the game + the rest in my opinion was very nicely done. Havent had this much fun in a sandbox game since pre-GTA IV (aka the tired franchise, that i keep buying because i just love those games).
Anyways, Dai-lo is calling, gotta go !
