Nintendo will hold a press event on September 13 to reveal the Wii U's price and release date.
after looking at the wii-U box art anyone know what the slide drawer below the disc slot is??? maybe wii disc games slot??
dude thats for USB's & flash cards. you just use the regular disc drive to put wii games in. common sense, nobody has ever put two disc drives on a console EVER.
TheMasterShake is correct.
If the lower slide is a 12 cm disc bay, how large is the upper bay then ?
Oy. Oh well, we've waited this long.
Can't wait. Was burned with the Wii but something tells me the Wii U won't let me down.
Sounds like good news for the Holidays. I can't wait
I'm calling November 18th personally. My body is ready!
Price $399, date november (8-12) 2012
I'm going to guess $349. What's funny is the media frenzy over the price and release date even though Nintendo did the same thing with the original Wii. They never announced an official price until September and it was launched in November. They would be wise to package a game with it but i doubt they will since it will be sold probably closr to cost as it is. Nintendo wants to be very careful about pricing, it would be wonderful if it was $299 and anything more than $399 would be suicide for them.
I'm in Europe but that machine does more then they have said and had to keep it last minute so Sony and Ms don't steal early in their development. That' was the hold up. Either way it's on now baby
I am pretty sure if Sony and Microsoft wanted to know what the Wii U does they would just find out. All company's have insiders.
Ok now this might be a dumb question but will they reveal the system specs on September 13?
They've never in their history given system specs out. We know didnt know what was in the Wii til after it launched and people took it apart. Im curious why it matters to you what is in it. Are you saying if the specs arent good enough you cant enjoy the games on it? Do you enjoy gaming on the 360 or PS3? If yes then you shouldnt be worried. Nintendo would have a hard time buying parts to make a console inferior to current gen.
Maybe vague details but for the most part, no. Nintendo usually talk about specs at conferences and/or interviews... actually, they don't reveal the specs that often either.
1. Why would some disagree with your comment? You were just asking a question, that's weird. 2. Nintendo, as others have said, will never release system specs. Once the Wii U releases iFixit and others will tear it down and found out how much VRAM, system RAM, storage it has but probably not CPU/GPU clock speeds. 3. Rumors have it pegged as a Power 7 CPU that is less than 3.2Ghz but not by much. Three or Four cores. (Though it wouldn't surprise me if it was Quad-Core with one core constantly reserved for streaming the game to controller) 1.5GB-2GB of RAM has been rumored and the GPU is said to be "50%" better than the GPUs in 360/PS3, whatever that means. So at the end of the day, if rumors prove true and its looking like they have at least a little credibility, then you're looking at a console 2-3 times as powerful as current consoles. At least on paper I guess, I'm no expert.
sorry already have a ps3 don't need a wii/wiiU
If you have no interest, then why did you check out this post? ...Oh yeah, that's right,to troll.
Too bad for you, i have a Ps3 as well and i will enjoy my Wii U :)
I'm betting on $300 at least :P
Looking forward to it, I'm guessing $299 to start. Nintendo has never released a console for more than that. Even the Gamecube, which was powerful, didn't release for higher than that. Bring on next gen!
hope they do a Zombi U bundle.
a month & some change before its release? i wonder if i should save for it.. I wont pay anything over $300 cuz ill need an external hdd, accessories, possibly a HDMI cable if theyre dicks n dont include one, screen protector, etc.. Hmm & maybe some games if theres any i want from it.. as of now there isnt
Why would they include an HDMI cable when regular A/V is more widely adopted? I get it, you and I use HDTVs but we aren't the majority of gamers. Even if the person has a HDTV in their house that doesn't mean the Wii U won't get hooked up to another, non-HD set. And with how cheap HDMI cables are it isn't too much of a hassle to get our own. I've got a lot lying around.
$299, and Nintendo will make a small loss. Nintendoland bundle with Wiiremote and Nunchuck for $350.
