Check out some new gameplay footage of Doom 3 BFG Edition
Can't understand shit what he says.
pardon his french xD
Sorry dude but you're wrong, his not a french but a german. So do not mislead if you are not sure;-)
If you couldn't figure out the language, it would've been a good idea to look at the site's URL. Notice the ".de"? That stands for Deutsche, which is German for, well... German. The same applies to Spanish speaking sites. ".es" = Español. And Italian. ".it" = Italiano
FINALLY my German class has come to use!
i am glad the flash light is now there and don't have to switch every time. Its 2012 games have advanced if you gonna do a HD collection this is the way to do it, make some changes to make sure the controls and stuff matches today's games
8 Minutes of "pure" game play footage should only be game play footage. Not panning back and forth between the demo and the guy presenting it.
Looks great but please tell me the flashlight while the gun is out is like an option easy mode for people who are too afraid to play the game as it should be played.
I love that the flashlight wast part of the gun, it made it challenging. Having to switch between a gun and flashlight was fun.
The game isn't scary at all (with all the fire power your given and constant monster closets) and it doesn't make sense that there wouldn't be a flashlight. I used the ductape mod many times on the original version because it was a chore switching to the damn light. It's the fucking future! :3
Doom running on the new ID tech is going to be freakin' amazing. I can't wait!!!! I'm a huge fan of id and John Carmack is a legend in gaming. Rage was amazing and at 60fps. Just awesome. This is going to be an epic release.
RAGE was disappointing for me as I'm a PC gamer. And, even now, that version of the game is still terrible. There's still the texture cache problems, even after the update that allowed you to increase your texture cache. All it does is eat your PC's resources for minimal change. Of course, the general optimization of the game is still horrendous and easily some of the worst I've ever seen. This is saddening, because the gameplay itself is actually pretty damn fun, but the PC version was clearly just an afterthought.
@Summons75 I appreciate that the separate flashlight contributed to the atmosphere of the game, but it really never made much sense. I find it hard to believe that mankind is advanced enough to colonize Mars, and develop plasma weapons, but no one ever thought to develop mountable tac lights.
lol probably because they were to busy doing other awesome things. I understand the thought but at the same time the atmosphere is what makes a game immersible and it's very important
Yes it's an option.
@Summons75 I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure it is an option that you can select from the menu(separate from difficulty).
Summons, I think your in for dissapointment bro, as I've read the flashlight is a new bulletpoint & it says it's a permanent fixture to your weapon. I think it's a ploy from the developers to lure in casuals or something, what they don't realize is that casuals don't care & will be spending there money on the COD, Fifa, Madden & other un-innovative, boring, yearly stat updates & map packs in disguise as a full proper game with a matching proper full pricetag. Hopefully I am wrong & the game will offer the game the way it was made originally, as I missed it the 1st time around (for some reason), so I will be getting it. If not, it would be nice if your torch batteries ran out, but you weren't given a battery light indicator & it will die & go black when your not ready for it. Either way, I can't wait to get the game in Oct.
The reason you had to switch between weapon and flashlight in the original was due to a technical issue. No need to get your panties in a knot when this updated version is what was originally intended.
If you have a pc the is a waste of money. get this.. http://www.dsogaming.com/ne...
THanks, downloading. Textures look awesome.
Why would anyone disagree with you?
cuz they only have a console & don't want me to have this http://www.youtube.com/watc... lol but this is what they might want.. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
In that first video he looks like he is jumping on bubbles. Why is everything else so square?
Because bro not everybody owns a PC.
@ shutupand That last vid of yours has a certain nostalgic feeling to it so I really do want that one :) The good'ol PS1 days... it was 15 years ago but I still remember it like it was yeasterday...
that looks a hell of alot better than the BFG edition lol the lighting and textures are awesome for a game of its age. and well ive noticed aswell everytime I say something positive about PC or a PC game on this site you get mad little console kids disagreeing for no reason other than the fact they are jelly and hate PC. Its why N4G should make you leave a comment for disagreeing.
I didn't get to play doom 3 if they include the the original flashlight mechanic I wouldn't mind Does anybody know if you can play with a keyboard and mouse on the ps3 version?
I believe the flashlight is permanant, but I read somewhere there is a battery life, so it would make sense you can switch the light on and off. For all those complaining that switching from light to gun made the game more tense. All it really did was cause you to take unneeded damage, but you can still play the old way. When enemies come out make sure you press the button to turn the light off before you start firing...that will be the same control original input setup.
why WHY play it with an Xbox controller? couldn't stand the slow-mo shooting
The disagrees are from console players who have never seen any PC shooter gameplay before. Sad.
So all the agrees are from PC scrubs that can't adapt to a controller? Personally I have absolutely no issue competing with both formats.
Thank god in the real world "all" shooters on consoles allow you to increase the speed. It's just like PC, a little slider bar lets you make it go faster.
wasnt that great when it first came out. how about doom4, you know the next doom, not the current doom again
" When enemies come out make sure you press the button to turn the light off before you start firing...that will be the same control original input setup." Sarcasm right?
"Doom 3 BFG Edition: 8 Minutes of Pure Gameplay Footage" Lied to me ;(
True. The guy's face was on the camera almost half of that.
Yeah baby! i cant wait for this!! My favorite game all time with half life 2 episode two!!
i wanna see this now!!
i hate PC players always talking about better graphics rather than gameplay. always calling themselves the "master race" is a shame how low some gamers went in the gen of gaming. i love gaming don't care the platform, i just love it.
The reason graphics are usually stressed by pc gamers is because we play closer to the screen than console games. Graphics/ art direction, audio, story(depending on context), and gameplay are equal in terms of importance. I'm tired of people not taking into account the importance of the other elements impact/importance on gameplay. Don't mistake, I've been gaming on both sides my whole life... I just don't like your portrayal of pc gamers without knowlege. I love gaming, but understand that it doesn't get more hardcore than pc gaming.
And pc gamers play on super mega hi spec monitors, so the graphics always look stunning. I prefer console gaming, its no hassle.
I have to agree with MEsoJD. I play almost all of my games on my PC whilst I leave all the console-exclusive games to my PS3 (that I only touch when I get one of said games). I love that my PC can play some amazing looking games, but I'm not going to sit there and play something that looks good if I think it plays like ass. For instance, Crysis/Crysis 2. Amazing looking games, but otherwise generic from a gameplay standpoint, despite the inclusion of the nanosuit. Also, when in the hell do we call ourselves the master race? I've never seen a PC gamer call themselves part of the master race and I know I've certainly never said it. Maybe it's because I'm not part of some uber-elitist group of PC gamers.
This is good for posterity. Don't know what that word means? Look it up kids.
