Darksiders 2: Interview with Xander Davis about THQ and Vigil

"At NotEnoughShaders.com, we would like to thank Xander Davis for giving us the time to interview him. It’s not easy for someone to speak his mind in an interview about a studio or publisher.
Xander Davis should be applauded for displaying the courage to stand up for himself and the employees who did not receive any credit on “Darksiders 2″ for their hard work. The contributions of these employees made it into the full shipped game. Many employees are afraid to say what is really going on in the industry, and I believe Xander is sticking up for many game developers who have been through the same situations as he has. Xander Davis is currently the CEO/COO of a new independent studio called Astrogun." writes NotEnoughShaders.

This poor sap just blackballed himself from the entire triple A community. He will catch hell trying to find a job now.

This dude certainly has decided to sabotage whatever career he had in the video game industry. It's not surprising to see that he is starting his own studio because there was no way he was going to get hired by anyone else, anytime soon after his statements. You know I hope this guy has a great PR team because developers that like to put their foot in their mouth and play the victim find themselves being quickly exiled.

Now that he has his own company I am sure it is only a matter a time before he is out there praising the WiiU and everything else he once stood against. Regardless though, drawing attention to himself by bashing on the Darksiders 2 team and hating on the WiiU, a console he admitted to not working on, is not going to do him any favors. Still I wish him the best of luck and hope he delivers some amazing games and isn't just another loud mouth with little talent like Phil Fish.

Because the PS4 has slow loading times I do prefer PS5 versions of games. The PS5 does load PS4 games faster but with a native PS5 version it loads much faster and it looks a bit better and better draw distance and such. So for me , I do want these 3rd releases for certain games and this is one of them. It’s one of my favorite PS3 games. Nobody is forced to buy it. It is not hurting anyone and it gives devs more money to make future games. These re-releases aren’t selling millions but it’s nice for people like me or people who never played the game.

It's a free upgrade for anyone that owns the PS4 and I'm assuming Xbox one version digitally.

I came back to add that it was free. Hard to be upset about a free upgrade. I would like to have a PS5 physical copy but it’s better than nothing
