$159.95?!
Who would spend that kind of cash on a headset?.

Someone who wants a quality headset on the cheap. Because let's face it, $159.95 is basically an entry level price for headphones that don't sound like ass. Sennheiser is also a trusted brand when it comes to excellent sound quality, better than Turtle beach, and any other pseudo high-end headset.

Me.. Infact I have these http://www.amazon.com/Sennh... which I use with one of these http://www.astrogaming.com/...

Great set-up... beats pretty much every other headset on consoles.. obviously the beyerdynamic mmx300s are better though

How does the overall performance hold up to that of a normal surround sound setup? I have been using my Sony surround sound for about five years now, and have been really happy with the results.

I've been looking into a headset as of late, however, but not really sure how well the overall experience holds up to a true 5.1/7.1 sound system. I know that with a headset, you tend to pick up on a lot more than you normally would, but the actual surround sound experience is really important to me. Being able to pinpoint exactly where the sound is coming from and all that.

I have a home cinema set up also... and I find that my headset mixamp combo works very well. you get a nice surround sound, and the sound has lots of space.

but, they will not replace a homecinema set-up.

Although, given that i have the choice. i use these more than the home cinema..

If you are looking for a nice headset set-up, although not cheap, it is very good

Me. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 598's, which cost $250. I use them for almost everything, even watching TV. The drawback is that they don't have a mic built in. Also, open-back headphones OWN.

You've never been to a Bose store, huh? Bose headsets cost even more.

Try gaming with surround sound headsets. There's a difference.
