Day Z: What It Is

DayZ is a zombie apocalypse mod (for definition of a mod see: modding ) designed by Dean “Rocket” Hall on the Real Virtuality 3 engine based off ARMA II. The setting takes place in the fictional post-Soviet state of Chernarus, an approximately 225km open world to scale. What this guy fails to mention, after you've spent £20 on a game you probably didnt want, is that getting DayZ to run should be an Olympic discipline.

However once it is working and you've died a few times to get used to the mechanics it is simply brilliant. No other game is quite as tense or so darn harsh, no other game has so many unscripted random (re weird) moments in them. Well worth a look and I hope Rocket will base the new one on Arma 3!

Getting it to run is easy. Follow install steps and choose a server with the correct version and bam it works. It's NOT that difficult

Just Google "can't get dayz to work" and see how many threads there are then or videos on how to get it to run on YouTube.

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
