Skyward Sword is Simultaneously the Best and Worst Zelda Game

GenGAME writes: "It’s not that the ideas were bad; it’s that the game that was created to showcase them seemed in too many ways to miss the point. The missing overworld, the not-quite-tough-enough enemies, and the inevitably pointless item upgrades system all proved that you can have a pristine gameplay core, but without compelling content to back it up, it’s nothing more than potential waiting to be realized."

Skyward Sword is an amazing game

Agreed, different from most but had one of the best stories in the franchise and the gameplay was fantastic too

No...No it's not. It's short, tutorial ridden, and rehashes the same boss battle several times throughout.

Majora's Mask and Link to the Past still stand tall as the best in my eyes.

skyward sword had some annoying gameplay choices, but it was the best story in the franchise yet, though wind waker is still my personal favorite.

Wind Waker is amazing, I simply love that game

"... the not-quite-tough-enough enemies..."

correct me if i'm wrong, but none of the enemies in any zelda game have ever been tough...

A lot of people die against the OCTOROKS in the original Legend of Zelda. It's not because they're hard on their own; it's because the game knows how to set them up so that they can kill you anyway (by throwing numbers at you in increasingly narrow spaces). This kind of scaled difficulty doesn't really exist in the recent games, though.

Skyward Sword has one of the best dungeons design ever.
