Codemasters respond to GRiD 2's controversial cockpit camera removal

I agree with you, i personally never use cockpit view (Bumper for me) but there a lot of people who prefer that. Games shouldn't be going backward with less features than the first.

Reading these comments makes me think people didn't read the post. Seems pretty legit to me, and I love using cockpit. The people pissed at CM are REALLY only thinking of themselves. Think about it... 95%... The amount of processing and memory he describes really doesn't seem to balance out the amount of people that'll actually use it.

yup same here, I like to race with a racing wheel and the cockpit view is great.

I always use cockpit view and the first GRID probably had the best to me. But if this game is truly as amazing in other areas as he says it is then I'm for it. Removal of a feature to improve others isn't stupid, if they truly push other areas forward then it's good design. The people who are so disappointed will most likely try it, fall in love with the racing and almost forget about the view.

Oh my god, people stop sayin Codies $*ck only because they removing cockpit view. If u wana play game with cockpit view, go play PROJECT C.A.R.S,i never used cockpit view in GRID.

i can see where they would say that 5% of people use the cockpit view in codemasters games. Sadly I'm part of that 5% so it sucks for me...but I wonder what the statistics of games like Forza and GT are? Rally racing is easier for most with out of car cam due to the amount of dust and broken windshields. I know on the PC side that statistic has to be higher than 5%...but hey, he at least makes a good point that they can spend that development time on other aspects of the game and being that they are at the end of this generation of consoles im sure the main focus is going beyond the 360 and ps3...so in reality the less they spend on developing the game...the better chance we have at seeing GRID 3 next gen

This is crap, in this day and age all racing games should have a cockpit view, I can't really think of any that don't besides dirt showdown and now this. There's going to be people not buying this game just because of this and I don't blame em, stop stripping away parts of games so you can add all those stupid lens flare and all those stupid filters for the graphics.

I wonder if they got the 5% of players using cockpit view from the online modes. I prefer to use the cockpit view in single player with my wheel but when I go online I like to use a controller with a different view so I can be more competitive. And in Dirt 3 they have a hardcore mode that forces you to use cockpit view, I guess that won't be in Grid 2....

GT5 on the otherhand, i play either in cockpit view or bumper view.

I'm kind of fine with codemasters' decision.

Lets not be idiots about this. As much as we all love Grid, removal of this feature is actually a pretty stupid decision from a developer's standpoint.

I've personally gone off Codemasters lately, Grid online gets abandoned on PS3, F12011 on PS3 annoyed me, after fans asking for more rally less gymkana they release Showdown and now this? They clearly don't care about fans!! Surely they should have got the Ego engine running at 60fps on consoles by now too!!

I'm disappointed that there is no cockpit view in this, but I'll be damned if I miss the sequel to one of my favorite racing games ever.

I always use cockpit view, from GT5, to Dirt, and heck, even Grid 1. This really is unnacceptable....
