Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Priced And Dated

From the playstation.blog: "It's official - SCEA announced today the April 17 North American ship date for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, available exclusively for PS3. Developed by famed Polyphony Digital, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be available for $39.99 on Blu-ray Disc (BD) and as a download via the PLAYSTATION Store."

A friend just came. He saw the prologue demo in my PS3 (japanese). He was awestruck. He made me promise to buy the full game when it releases.

Like I needed him to do that ;)

Considering that this is just a demo I first thought: "holy crap! I'm not paying 40 bucks for a demo!" Then I actually saw the features that came WITH Prolouge and it actually puts most full retail racers to shame.

Will we be able to transfer money, cars, etc to the full game once it is released? I would buy it just for that capability. I know you cannot modify the cars in the prologue, but to start the full GT5 with a boat load of cash, and a stable of prancing ponies waiting to be tuned would be awesome indeed.

Polyphony have already said you can. This feature was also in GT4: Prologue aswell, and we managed to get our credit onto GT4 when it came out. ^_^

I think it's a huge mistake If they give the PSN and the Blu-ray version the same price.

It's a good package but I'll wait for the full game, unless the PSN store is reasonably prices then I might change my mind.

I think it's a little steep. You're paying 2/3 the price for not 2/3 of the game.... I love Gran Turismo, but I think I might wait for the full release, I just hope it's out this year.

Just think of it as buying a game expansion before buying the full game. If you do that you can see that your really aren't paying much more than you would for a game expansion which usually run between US $30-$40.

Same here in Australia before it was March 28 - now it's April.

Can't really do much now can we, but hey it's not bad - at least it's really coming.
At least we got a teaser game to play while waiting for the motherload true GranTurismo 5 ( christmas time or definitely early 2009 )

I know, I know... It has more cars than many games out there, for 40 USD... Still I think 40 USD are too much for a downloadable game, specially a "demo", even more when you think that, if you really want it, you'll just go and buy it again, in full version, for only 20 bucks more... I can wait.
