DayZ or The War Z: Past, Present, and Future

For those uninitiated, DayZ and The War Z are in-development Zombie MMOFPS titles for PC, both fervently anticipated. Another difference is the optional Hardcore mode in War Z. This, to me, is the biggest difference and one that makes me suspect they will be vastly different games.

I don't play Day Z, nor do I want to. I know I wouldn't have any fun playing it. And that is why I love it so much. It doesn't try to convince me to play it. There are no concessions made for me as a gamer. That is how it should stay. The day it tries to get a gamer like me to play will be a sad day. My wish is for it to push me away until "I" change.

What I heard from the War Z guys makes me think their "ethos" may be different. Its the core idea of Day Z that folks are drawn to and not the game itself. This is just speculation of course, since I know very little about War Z.

I will say though, what I have seen of the Colorado map, which was shown in the screen shots, looks nothing like Colorado. But it may be early or there may be a reason for that, so I won't be too harsh. I just hope Co. gets some love is all:P

I am very familiar ARMA 1 and 2 as well as OFP, so I know how Day Z plays. Just putting that out there so no one thinks I am judging Day Z with out any knowledge about it at all.
