Remember That Game? – Borderlands

Welcome to the first ever “Remember That Game?”, where I spend some time with an older game to talk about whether it stills holds up to today’s standards, and if it’s worth checking out after all this time. This week I returned to the world of Pandora, to shoot and loot in the original Borderlands.

This is an awesome article, its nice to hear a person's fresh opinion and pointers on games most of us remember

Lol this reminds of my articles called "Have you Played" where I talked about games of the current generation asking gamers if they had played them.

I even did one on Borderlands:

Hey man, I wrote this article. I've never heard of your series, but funny that we both had the same idea. I like how your piece goes much more in depth into the game, but I decided to do more of a summary approach.

How can I forget when this is the only game I have spent more than 200-250hrs into. And that's all single player no co-op. I play games at my pace so no need for me for 4player co-op and to be honest I don't have 4 psn friends lol.(I got a lot of friends but mat don't play borderlands)

And now when I think about it the game had zero story till the dlc started launching and to nest that much time not a game with no story now that's when you know the gameplay kicked major ass

Guns

Guns

But in the sequel better graphics, hopefully better performance and less slow downs with a proper story and a lot more guns please

Zancruz4711d ago

The first game has close to 18,000,000 variations of guns and the next game will have even more for us to find... All types of new variations of guns, from rifles to shoot out mini missiles to submachine gun miniguns to disposable guns that explode after all the bullets run now.

no doubt this is one epic game and the loot edition is very fitting for borderlands 2. luckily i got one pre ordered

can't wait i will play this game 2-3 straight days. I heard the latest build one play through of the game took 58hrs and that's not counting the one plus option

gearbox president randy said he wanted to make the the game had content of 10 games lol damn

gearsbox are very under rated publisher/developer

Lol, I feel u... I just don't want read about you died from playing too much BL2 like a dude did with diablo....

I would ask u what character you think you gonna be playing as, But u can't reply.... :(

Zancruz4711d ago

Just rebeat Borderlands & All DLC for the 6th time with Mordecai.... Because I'm so pumped up for the new game. I hear the main story in borderlands 2 takes 58 hours to complete and that's not including all the side missions, This will be the one game I focus all my attention on this fall.

i actually did exactly the same thing as you. even down to the character choice haha!

Despite Borderlands Movie Flop, Series Saw Boost in Sales; Take-Two to Be Selective on Licensing IPs

Take-Two admits the Borderlands movie was disappointing, though it still contributed to the game catalog's sales.

"we don’t really need to break out the contribution from the film because while it was economically positive"

Come on, there was nothing positive about it, it literally bled money...not really economically.

Daeloki226d ago

No there was not. The same way there was no Dragon Ball live action movie, nor an Avatar the Last Airbender live action movie :)

Polish a turd to make a what?!

DefenderOfDoom2226d ago (Edited 226d ago )

So the movie cost 155 million to produce and another 30 million dollars to promote . Borderlands movie brought in around 31 million worldwide . So basically, the Borderlands movie was a 154 million commercial for Borderlands video game franchise.
