Valve has released a new update for 3D animation program Source Filmmaker, available for free download on Steam. Among other enhancements, this update includes improvements to the SDK launcher.
Source Filmmaker lets filmmakers and hobbyists craft virtual sets and props and manipulate them in real-time.
Several months ago, Source 2 references were spotted inside the Source Filmmaker code. Now, it’s the turn of Half Life 3 to appear with new scripting fragments added as of January 2014.
You can think of them as placeholder text more than anything else and point to file locations that just might exist in Valve’s render farms. While it’s not the best possible explanation that Half Life 3 is in development, and it does nothing on its own, it at least points to a possible connection between Source Filmmaker and Half Life 3 in some way.
I honestly think Valve is scared to make this game, with the amount of hype it would have to live up to.
Can we stop reaching so hard for HL3 and either wait for announcement or move on? At this point HL3 stuff is nothing more than click bait attempts.
Source Filmmaker (SFM) has been out a while now and well, there are just some videos that have been created via the program that everyone should see!
