EA hits on earnings but misses on revenue target for June quarter

Electronic Arts reported its first fiscal quarter earnings today, hitting its earnings target but falling short on revenue.

The maker of video game such as Madden NFL and Battlefield 3 said that revenues for the first fiscal quarter ended June 30 were $491 million, down from $524 million a year ago. Non-GAAP net loss was $130 million, compared with a loss of $123 million a year ago. Non-GAAP earnings per share were 41 cents, compared with 37 cents a share a year ago.
