Although it was once a great classic, Time Soldiers suffers from its new control scheme on the PS3.
Playstation 3 gamers are receiving a healthy dose of classic gaming thanks to SNK-PLAYMORE. Time Soldiers, released in 1987, is an overhead shooter where the player travels through four different time periods – The Primitive Age, The Age of Rome, The World of Wars, and The Age of War and Future World – to rescue soldiers that were imprisoned by the evil Gylend.
Digital Chumps: I would certainly purchase Gang Wars before Time Soldiers. BUT! If I was looking for an arcade shooter with a large amount of challenge to it, then I would probably hit up Time Soldiers.
DHGF: The controls simply don’t work, the marquee feature has been left on the cutting room floor, and all of the nostalgia in the world couldn’t save this port. It’s bad enough to excise co-op, but to leave all of the co-op related graphics in is downright cruel. This game was made with only the PSP in mind, and that was a huge mistake. If the proper game were playable on the PS3, I would have been much more lenient. As it is, I suggest you stay far away from Time Soldiers.
I used to pump coins one of these machines in the arcades :)
DUDE!!! I just played the hell out of this game at an arcade convention this past weekend. CLASSIC!
