Now, joining the fray this September is Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, a collection that brings not one but two additional games to your fighting library.
While Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes may not have invented the cross-tag fighting platform (that honor would go to X-Men vs. Street Fighter, which released years before), it certainly solidified it, adding a smorgasbord of new characters from both the Marvel and Capcom universes to duke it out in high-flying fashion, with a number of powerful moves and super techniques that would leave opponents in the dust.
You can't make everyone happy, but there are definitely a few heroes and villains who really should be in Marvel vs. Capcom.
Yeah it's really strange that they didn't use any of their Netflix characters. Banking their cinematic properties seems to be a main focus of the suits anyway. Why leave them out? Both companies have a ridiculous amount of characters to come out with a roster so uninspired. Im having fun for what it is but it still makes you wonder who's making these decisions.

Not only do they have the film rights to Daredevil and Punisher, and not only do they have shows on Netflix for both of them, they are also fan favorite characters long before the movies even started getting made.
This was a perfect opportunity for them to add DD and Punisher to this series. It would have softened the "no X-Men" blow. Look, we didn't add X-Men this time, but we DO have these guys!
Not to mention Iron Fist who was in the last game. DD would have definitely would have gone a long way to soften the X-Men blow but it's Capcom we're talking about, they never do things the easy way.
You guys are forgetting the $30 season 1 pass... and the $30 season 2 pass, and the $30 season 3 pass...
Agreed, it looks like most of the marvel picks were for movie promotional reasons so it makes me wonder why not one Netflix Marvel character is featured in the game.
No doubt they may have that lined up for DLC
I imagine Netflix makes as much money from the characters as Disney does. Disney is also pulling their shows from Netflix to start their own streaming services, but since Netflix was involved in the making of those shows I think they're staying on Netflix for the time being.
Other than that I'm pretty sure the amount they make from Netflix shows pales in comparison to the amount they make from the MCU.
And iron fist was already in the previous game. They made an active decision to take him out lol. It's just weird if they are using MvC as promotional material like it seems.
MvC:I has the most underwhelming roster in the series.
So much potential for characters that could've been unexpected gone to waste.
The main reason I didn't buy capcom marvel infinite is because it doesn't have a combo breaker..

It's just a pity the magic that Capcom captured in the '90s with their hand-drawn sprites has been lost to generic, plasticky 3D models. Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is fun, but that world-mashing graphical charm just isn't the same.
For once can we like just let a franchise change without holding it to nostalgia?
Looks are 100% objective the game does not look ugly. If that's the biggest gripe is the looks then ain't no reason to talk about this with people like you
So because some places look off in some individuals opinion it ultimately means the game looks ugly? The game looks great I just got done playing it the last 6 hours. The style they chose is simply different that's it.
It certainly does in comparison to past titles.

THANK GOD! A Six button Marvel vs. Capcom game! Mvc 2 and 3 are 4 button. It's going DOWN when Capcom re-releases Capcom vs. SNK 1 or 2, because you know its coming. All it takes is demand from people online. Capcom vs SNK 2 is thee rawest fighting game, PERIOD! I like it better than tekken x street fighter, but that game is raw tho.
Definitely picking this up on release, used to play a lot of these two back when they came out.
I REALLY hope Capcom releases a HD/online version of Capcom vs SNK 2, that would be amazing. I'm actually kind of surprised they're releasing JoJo's and this before a CvS2 port but whatever...
Marvel vs Capcom and Marvel Superheroes....sounds good even though i wouldve preferred Marvel Superheroes vs Street fighter or X-men vs Street Fighter instead.
It seems like those games would compliment MvC better
