Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi’s latest project is a surf game called Party Wave. Drawing inspiration from one of Mistwalker Studio’s headquarter location, Mistwalker takes the classic Hawaiian past time of surfing and gives it a cartoony twist for the iOS platform. Will Sakaguchi’s first foray into the iTunes App Store establish a beach head for future iOS releases?
gamrReview: "Party Wave does for surfing what the Tony Hawk games did for skateboarding. In lieu of capturing the realism of the sport, it instead captures the ideals, the feeling, the spirit. That’s what Party Wave does perfectly."
Games like Party Wave are exactly what makes mobile gaming so special. Out in the real world of publisher dominated, market-driven console games, Hironobu Sakaguchi is shackled to the genre that made his name, turning out one big budget RPG after another, until he either goes out of business, retires, dies or goes out of business, retires and dies.
STP: What's this? A new iPhone game being released by Mistwalker Corporation and Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of such titles as Final Fantasy and The Last Story? Surely it must be some sort of epic quest, full of danger and dragons, sorcery and swordplay, right?"
Anything that mistwalker makes is good quality shit!
Dude, 9.5! This is sick!
Awesome! :D
Crazy score!
