SDCC 2012: Hands-on Preview for Lost Planet 3 (

Lost Planet 3 is one of Capcom’s biggest releases within the coming year. This third-person shooter is the third of the series and will be set to release for the Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 during the months of 2013. The game takes place right before the events of Lost Planet 2 and Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions. It was a pleasant surprise to find that this game is much more driven by narrative then the approach taken with Lost Planet 2 in terms of replacing narrative with cooperative game play. Lost Planet 3 fits in perfectly with the series and in the player’s hands. The crew here at was egger to get their hands on this anticipated title and once we had it was an extremely enjoyable experience.

I played the first game and not the second game, is it true that Lost Planet 2 like really sucked and wasnt even like a game in the series? And if i plan on playing Lost Planet 3 should I still play the second one even though Lost Planet 3 is set before the first two games?

I recently played the 2nd, and it was pretty good. I can't compare it to the 1st because I never played that one. The only reason I picked it up was because it has split screen co-op so me and my son could play a game together. Needless to say, we're now very much looking forward to the 3rd installment if it has split screen co-op as well.

I've never played these games, but it looks like it may be time to start. However, I'm wondering if I should skip 2 as well.

I hope this game is better than the second one!

I'm down for any game that tells a great story!
