Voice and mocap actors revealed for Resident Evil 6

During last night’s Resident Evil panel at Comic Con, Capcom announced the voice and motion capture actors for Resident Evil 6.

Here’s the list, which reads like a who’s who of video game voice actors:

Ada Wong/Carla Radames: Michelle Lee (body) Courtenay Taylor (voice)
Chris Redfield: Reuben Langdon (body) Roger Craig Smith (voice)
Helena Harper: Katherine Randolph (body) Laura Bailey (voice)
Jake Muller: Troy Baker (body, Voice)
Leon S. Kennedy: Jason Faunt (body) Matthew Mercer (voice)
Piers Nivans: Kevin Dorman (body) Chris Emerson (voice)
Sherry Birkin: Sara Fletcher (body) Eden Riegel (voice)
Voice Over Director: Liam O’Brien

Resident Evil 6 arrives on PS3 and Xbox 360 in October, and allows players to experience the plot through three scenarios.

They got rid of Sally Cahill for Ada Wong and Paul Mercier for Leon.....WTF

Why can't they just settle down on voice actors...

SeekDev4706d ago

They're antsy? It could be that the new voice actors are cheaper, or even better skilled and more expensive. My money's on cheaper.

user54670074706d ago (Edited 4706d ago )

Probably...it is Capcom

As I was saying though in another article Paul Mercier is voicing Leon in the CGI film Damnation...pretty sure Sally is in it aswell. Wouldn't it be cheaper to get them to do RE6s lines while they're in a sound booth.

That back a forth between the two characters in RE4 won't be the same in RE6 since they'll sound differen't. They sound a like but I think I'll know now because they've confirmed it that it's not the same

EDIT@ Below

Can you blame them though SeekDev...Michael Ironside is amazing. Plus they said it was because of the motion acting since Ironside is old but I still think he could do it. Richard who plays Sully in Uncharted does motion cap acting and he's older then Ironside. I think it was because he's too expensive for them now.

I'm curious about how much flak they're catching for changing voice actors so much. Just look at Splinter Cell: Blacklist, they got rid of Michael Ironside and the community had a mini rebellion.

@MikeCosgrove

Ironically the new voice actor is also similarly named Mercer. What a coincidence.

Matthew Mercer? Oh wow, kudos to the guy, I really enjoyed There Will Be Brawl so it's nice to see him moving onto bigger things.

Wha...? What happened to Paul? Replaced by a guy with the same last name... jeez.

Capcom reveals its PC game [digital] sales overshadow console, and it's only growing

The earnings reports of Capcom's Fiscal year 2024 showcase the growth of PC over console, with 60% of game sales being made on the former.

What’s interesting is that, given how well their games sell, it’s very likely most of them fall into the 25/75 revenue split bracket. The larger ones, like Monster Hunter, are in the 20/80 bracket.

So even accounting for the vastly superior regional pricing on PC, I wouldn’t be surprised if revenue-wise from digital sales, both platforms are close, or if PC is ahead as well.

neutralgamer19925d ago (Edited 5d ago )

Yes PC is the biggest platform and it has definitely improved as a home console of sort plug and play. It's the only platform with actual freedom for gamers with modding. I was a console gamer for over 38 years and now I only play on Pc. Whether you are buying pre-built or building it yourself it's now easier than ever before to jump in

And my experience with pc gamers has been excellent, they are helpful with any questions on pc boards

FPS_D3TH4d ago

As a gamer who also loves replaying his old favorite titles, possibly with a few mods as well, I can’t imagine ever getting another console.

Profchaos5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

They spoke about resident evil and monster hunter I would actually find the monster hunter breakdown more interesting tbh as I've always felt like this game would be at home on PC

but for resident evil it's always felt like a PlayStation mainstay despite having exclusivity elsewhere likely because it was where I first played it. The game feels like it's begging to be played lights off in the loungeroom late at night or also in VR I've never been as scared as I was playing re7 in VR

Is this really suprising? Looking at the evolution of the Switch, X|S and Playstation 5?

Eonjay4d ago

The biggest cause is probably the lack of game purchases on the Xbox platform. Also keep in mind this is only digital sales so there is a chunk of sales not being shown here.
