Shacknews is reporting that Valve announced today that GSC Game World's S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky (PC) will be made available as a digital download exclusively on Steam, and unveiled a handful of new screenshots of the upcoming standalone prequel.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is tentatively scheduled for simultaneous retail and digital release later this year.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is about to launch and we've noticed player counts for the original trilogy spiking in anticipation.
"Mechanically, Clear Sky is a surprising leap ahead of Shadow of Chornobyl. Shooting, which was already solid, is tightened further. Mercifully, armour can be upgraded and repaired and there are now much more gear set combinations. This is further complemented by an increased emphasis on artefacts as a necessary adjunct to your gear set. The key aspect that elevates this prequel above its forebear is the extra focus on inventory customisation." - Ken Talbot| NintendoLife
Review - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky should be seen as an expansion rather than a full prequel, but it is one that fans will enjoy nonetheless.

Anyone know when the release date is for this game?
Again see what I meant with STEAM people (and Online distribution of PC games)?
And regarding this "prequel" its a HELL YES! I cant wait to go back to the Zone! get ready your anti-rads people!
I love steam.
reinstalled the first one yesterday, I can't wait for this. Time to get spooked by scary invisible mutants (if they keep them in there), wander if they will actually allow vehicles I know they had vehicles prepared for first one, but then scrapped them.
Though either way "Zone ftw"
