John Bedford (Modojo): Endeavor Bros has announced a brand-new game at Comic-Con titled The Adventures of Retrobot. Fusing interactive comics with gaming, the developer had this to say about the title in a press release this morning...
GameDynamo - "when the developers of Retrobot tout it as "a fusion between comic and game", they're drawing upon the strengths of both mediums. It is in this endeavor that Retrobot succeeds in creating a unique and fun experience."
Before you crucify me, I loved Wall-E just as much as you did, trust me. But you can’t have a game where you just roll around picking flowers, trying on bras, and convincing the obese to start walking again can you? Well, maybe you can, but let’s save that for the obscure Japanese developers. That’s where Retrobot comes in.
TouchGen: Retrobot is a game that purports itself as a cross between a game and a comic, but developers Endeavor Bros might be disappointed to know that I previously tried to pitch a similar idea to Duncan Bannatyne on Dragon’s Den, only to come away with a scowl, a few choice phrases which I won’t re-print here, and most importantly, no money. To this day I still don’t see what was wrong with a comic you can screw up into a ball and play cricket with. It would’ve sold millions.
