North American anime company FUNimation Entertainment has acquired a good-sized portion of online game developer/publisher GameSamba. The acquisition was announced at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. The companies announced a strategic alliance in July 2011, and FUNimation president Gen Fukunaga was named as GameSamba's first Chairman in October.
Ed Boon recently discussed the future of Mortal Kombat 1 at San Diego Comic Con, hinting at lots of new content, but no plans for a sequel.
