Nintendo Profit Surges, Forecasts Raised, as Wii Outsells PS3

Jan. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Nintendo Co., maker of the best- selling Wii game player, increased third-quarter profit 63 percent and raised its annual revenue forecast after the console outsold Sony Corp.'s PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360.

Net income rose to 126.5 billion yen ($1.2 billion) in the three months ended Dec. 31, while sales gained 50 percent to 621.6 billion yen. Figures, derived from nine-month results reported today by the company, surpassed analysts' estimates.

but imagine if the PS3 was also in hospices, nursing homes, hospitals, therapy clinics, and childcare centers. Nintendo has a huge advantage in those areas, because it's more of a pacifier for the old, sick, and very young; but also enjoyed by a slice of fervent, vehement Nintendo fanboys/girls. I don't think that the PS3 will ever be found in the areas aforementioned, and for reputation's sake, I hope it never is.

Why was the original topic title changed? I like how topic created added it beat PS3 why not add GBA, Xbox, and Gameccube to it to?
