Namco and Capcom collaboration Tekken x Street Fighter is still planned as a current-generation game, Eurogamer has learned.
The reports of Tekken X Street Fighter's death have been greatly exaggerated and the game's director, Katsuhiro Harada, isn't too thrilled about the mistake.
"the game's director, Katsuhiro Harada, "
The game actually has a director. Don't know whether to laugh or cry - what the hell has he been doing ?
Tekken x Street Fighter is officially dead as confirmed by the game director and Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada. The game was announced long ago.
Dan Rizzo says "where is Tekken X Street Fighter? Was its reveal all for naught? Are we lead to believe that Harada’s still holding out after Ono’s departure? Will we ever see a draft of its early development phase? These are all questions that will remain – along with the title itself – in video gaming purgatory."
I think IF this game ever happened, they would remaster Street Fighter X Tekken just for the sake of it being up to date with Tekken X Street Fighter.
I can't imagine Capcom being ok with Tekken X Street Fighter being on the PS5/Series X/S while Street Fighter X Tekken is literally two system generations behind.
I believe that both companies are doing well with their own fighting game atm so they don't see the urgency to produce that title. But I could see some Cameo appearing on Sf6 or the next Tekken game.
So much fun on the vita, combos tagged to the touch screen meant some easy cross platform wins.
Hopefully Namco treats their customers with respect unlike Capcom. Maybe if they do, and the game does well, other companies will take note and learn the proper way of doing things.
They wont get much sales because Capcom release first, I think they should scrap it. I always thought they should of made the game with both style and charge 75, have a setting where you can switch from capcom style to tekken style, but now by releasing another game with same characters, people will assume its the same thing and some will be bored playing with the same characters again, but there will be sales still, but it wont reach Capcom version, and its only because Capcom release it first and the game just came not too long ago, if they going to release it, then it should be in 2 years when people are aching for another crossover
I'll buy it. I just hope it doesn't come out too early, late 2013 or early 2014 should fine
hope that its better than the unbalanced crap capcom gave us
I am looking forward to Namcos version of this cross over. I felt the same way about Capcoms but sadly Capcom left me feeling rather dissapointed and scammed.
Hopefully Namco dont follow in Capcoms example.
