Guild Wars 2 for PS3 might debut at Gamescom

PSU writes: "Earlier today, we reported that a LinkedIn profile for one Gerald Bauser might confirm Grand Theft Auto V's upcoming presence at Gamescom 2012. Upon further examination, an interesting bit of news can be drawn for PS3 owners - Guild Wars 2, the much-hyped MMO sequel from developer ArenaNet, could come to consoles."

I'm glad NC SOFT listened to my pleas.

:P

Spinal4686d ago

And just like how you thought Diablo 3 would come to your PS3? I told you it wouldnt happen. I dont forget these things persistantthug :) long time by the way.

GW2 is coming 28th aug with the success they will gain on PC i dont think they will ever do a console port. They wont need the hassle.

Im sure people were waiting for the Age of Conan console version an theyd still be waiting lool how many years later?

GW2 wont come to consoles its far too vast for those systems.

@spinalc0rd

I'm glad Diablo 3 didn't make it to consoles.

It really was a huge disapointment and the Pay2Win model is disgusting.

I agree with you on this this smoothly, PS3 and X360 are to weak to run anything like this (even if it's just lack of memory).

GUYwhoPLAYSvideoGAME4686d ago

please please please please do what portal 2 did and make it so pc and ps3 can play together

paybackprahl4686d ago

YES. THIS, 100 percent all the way.

joab7774686d ago

I second that. Where dis this come from. Wow!

karlowma4686d ago (Edited 4686d ago )

If you guys want to play MMOs so bad, why not do it on your PC?

Do you think there's even the slightest possibility that it'll be a better experience on a console?

joab7774686d ago

Yes. My PC sucks. Actually, it's above average on memory and speed but has an integrated bulls$%& graphics card & I promised myself no new gaming machine until I c next Gen specs.

GUYwhoPLAYSvideoGAME4686d ago

yah, if i had a pc that could run it as well as a ps3 then i'd play it on a pc, unfortunately that isn't the case for most people including myself, so this on ps3 sounds awesome

Moby-Royale4686d ago

Idk why it always has to be a competition.

No where does it say, nobody is saying that it will be "better".

Goodness gracious I am sick of condescending people just looking for something to gripe at.

You should not put words into other peoples' mouths. It is unbecoming.

karlowma4686d ago

I didn't put words in anyone's mouth; I asked a question.

I look forward to circle-strafing your face as I fill you with fiery arrows while you fumble with your controller.

karlowma4686d ago

Please, you could run this game on a Kindle Fire. With every MMO now focusing on "accessibility" in all ways, you hardly need a beast of a rig to play them. I'm pretty sure the computer I was using five years ago exceeded these requirements. Seriously.

What are the minimum system requirements for Guild Wars 2?

Our goal with Guild Wars 2 is to have it run on a wide range of Windows gaming PCs.

Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better • Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon 64 X2, or better • 2 GB RAM • NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI X1800, Intel HD 3000, or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better) • 25 GB available HDD space • Broadband Internet connection • Keyboard and mouse

To each their own but for this game, TERA/DCUO theres not really a reason why you would need to use the keyboard/mouse setup, there really aren't that many buttons you use at once like other mmo's WoW/RIFT/SWTOR and if your used to one over the other (mainly console player) i don't see a reason why one would have an advantage over the other. I use a controller> a mouse keyboard whenever i can in something 3rd person perspective wise, but again all comes down to preference. (FPS is different aiming is def better with a mouse)...plus most people i know who have been playng this have been using the razer naga which is basically a one handed controller aka not having to click the screen and pressing a button instead (yes i have one)

Hopefully this means gamepad support for the PC version. TERA I thought benefited (for me anyway) from using my 360 controller and from my time in the beta's for GW2 seems as though it'd be perfect for it. Plus, being able to play from my couch is always a plus since I'm hooked up to my hdtv.

DOOMZ4686d ago

already have it pre ordered for PC. Might have to pick up a new PS3 for this one though... Sold mine a while back. Hopefully it works on a account basis where I could just log in on any system! Love playing on my couch.
