An Argument for a More Realistic Zelda World

ZI writes: There are numerous components necessary to a functional story – characters, events, context, etc. In fantasy and science fiction however, a specific component of the usual story formula is typically elevated to a higher status than in other genres – the setting, or the world.

these articles again?

will they stop someday?

Reverent4681d ago

not to mention that horribly Photoshopped cover picture of Links face over Altiar's body.

And despite TP being the most successful Zelda title everywhere, I think Nintendo cares more about the casual crowed than their core audience.

I hope the next game will be like the tech demo they showed and not like SS.

ATi_Elite4681d ago

Yeh it would be cool to have a Zelda game with a M rating cause of realistic violence and more mature themes like Skrim or The Witcher!

PopRocks3594681d ago

Not really. Do you want a Toy Story movie that's rated R? No? Good. I don't want a rated M Zelda.

fossilfern4681d ago

A rated 18/M Metroid game...... They sort of touched on it on MP2 but it was no where near an 18 rating but it would be nice to see I suppose. Or even a 15 rating. But not 15/18/M just for the fact that it will have blood and guts etc. Think a more mature Metroid would suit the series IMO

Reverent4681d ago (Edited 4681d ago )

@Poprocks, I know right? I was honestly really surprised when Twilight Princess came out with its "T" rating. I was like, "Animated blood in my Zelda game?! No way! Not like this!" Lol.

yabhero4681d ago

M rated metriod sure,
Zelda... Please no... Then I couldn't play it easily...

Sadly realistic has been reduced to: shave his head and give him a gun.

mike1up4681d ago

...and a few steroid injections.

Shok4681d ago

You guys mean Zelda running on the Unreal 3 engine??????

gamerben4681d ago

The reason shaved heads are so popular is because it's a lot easier to model.

310dodo4681d ago

Hyrule as an Open world
would be awesome

give Zelda to Bethesda

TheFirstClassic4681d ago

A zelda with crap combat would suck. Don't get me wrong, I love tes, but what's special about zelda is the gameplay. I would like to see a bigger and more lively world, but not at the cost of gameplay, and not skyrim big in terms of things to do.

310dodo4681d ago

I love the depth of bethesda worlds is all.

I wouldnt want to completely change the combat of Zelda
def tweak it.

I would never get rid of the music as well.

gamerben4681d ago

Bigger world...

Uhh, wind waker?

Qrphe4681d ago

That NEVER

If there is something that is good in Zelda game, is the combat. Bethesda completely SUCKS at making engaging combat.

jc485734681d ago

I can guarantee how boring that would be. Most of the charm that makes the game attractive will be lost and may be scrapped for the sake of making it realistic. It might end up being a game where gamers won't be able to take the game seriously.

HalfNerdHalfAmazing4681d ago

If you want a more realistic Zelda just play skyrim

Link Should Talk, but Choose His Words Carefully in The Legend of Zelda Movie

Link should have a voice in The Legend of Zelda Movie. While he mostly stays quiet in the games, he canonically does speak but usually holds back on expressing his thoughts. In a movie format, it is better for the character and the story itself that Link speaks.

I just hope it's not a bunch MCU Snarky McJokeface dialog. Started playing veilguard free on PSN (would not recommend) and it's a perfect example of how dialog in contemporary entertainment is garbage.

It's gonna be Chris Pratt again lol
