Arcee "In this article, I want to take a look at the LGBT video game characters that I have become a fan of over the 30 plus years I have been a gamer. Before I start though, it is a shame that LGBT characters are not taken more seriously in video games as they are in other mediums. With the exception of role playing games that give the player the freedom to choose what gender and sexuality their characters are, and the relationships they choose to be in (i.e. Fable, Mass Effect, SW:KotOR), LGBT characters are severely underrepresented in gaming. This is a trend that I hope someday soon will be reversed and more openly gay characters will start to be featured in video games – and be treated with the respect the characters deserve."
