Square Enix announced only one of two new jobs for the Final Fantasy XI Seekers of Adoulin expansion pack yesterday. The wait for the second job wouldn't be too long, though, as the announcement came today on the second day of the Vana Fest 2012 event in Yokohama.
Final Fantasy XI will receive a new update this month, and a trailer previews some of the new features it will add to the game.
Final Fantasy XI‘s fairly new experience points and currency based objective system, Records of Eminence, will be receiving brand new objectives in the upcoming version update including rewards for hunting in more areas, synthesis, and weapon skills. The biggest piece of this update includes the addition of Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia areas to the list of objectives. Currently RoE is only active in the Original and Seekers of Adoulin areas.
Final Fantasy XI‘s Trust Initiative has been a revolutionary addition to the game. By allowing players to form small parties comprised of only themselves and a couple of NPCs, the leveling process has been eased in the wake of departing players.
Prishe and Ulmia – two NPCS from the game’s second expansion, 2004′s Chains of Promathia – will be added to the system next, nearly 10 years after their initial appearance. Square Enix has promised a full “platoon” of alter egos to follow.
