CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk will feature a story with smoother learning curve, won't be dumbed down

DSOGaming writes: "We bet that a lot of players are a bit worried about CD Projekt RED's upcoming Cyberpunk, especially after witnessing the dramatic change in Dead Space 3's concept."

The Witcher story is deep and to be able to understand it all you need to read the novels

Makes sense so far , just completed the prologue on Witcher 2 but something tells me ill be reading a wiki later to remember stuff.

Only thing bothering me is this random micro stutter : / , spent all day trying to fix it.

turn your settings down, lol, or your CPU is too weak.

Croash4744d ago (Edited 4744d ago )

Had the same issue with the same game!

It's probably your CPU being too hot and destroying your frame rate (running at less than 15% of its capacity?) for a few seconds so that it will cool down.
Now, such security would be useful if it weren't happening every 10 seconds!

What I did with my mid-range laptop (nvidia 540m and i5-2410m) is use ThrottleStop to tell my CPU to run at around 60% of its capacity while I'm gaming and whenever it reaches 90°C, which doesn't happen very often with such settings, the software will make it run at 30% until it cools down (which takes around 2.5 seconds...obviously).

So I'm getting lower frames per second than usual, but I'd rather get used to 25-45ish FPS with very rare drops instead of 60 FPS to 10 FPS every 10 seconds.

============

On topic : I have faith in CD Projekt RED. I don't think The Witcher's story was too hard to understand and you could find a lot of information about characters, locations, etc... in the menu.

I guess they will make their storytelling similar to Eidos Montreal's Deus Ex : Human Revolution.

A lot of characters, a lot of dialog options, a lot of mails, data logs and even newspapers. You can still follow the plot by talking to the key characters, but if you want to know more about the universe, it's all there waiting for you.

@Feralkitsune

Probably should have posted my specs:

i7 920 at 4gz
ATI 5870 1GB
6GB Ram

I get the same problem on all settings.

@Croash

You maybe right , case & radiator needs cleaning , ill do some testing , just need some tools from the interwebs :D , ill check out throttlestop too , thanks :D

Update : Ah thanks forgot about heating issues , need to clean the PC out getting 70 degrees idle and it's trottling before I even get in game xD

That's true, but only the short stories and the first novel in the series are translated. Times of Contempt is due out soon, but it took much longer than expected.

CDPR has yet to disappoint me. They've been loyal to their fans and its only right we show our appreciation for that.

This is one game I seriously can't wait for.

Somebody4744d ago (Edited 4744d ago )

If they have dumbed down features only as extras (like the Arena in the Witcher 2) alongside the regular/core features then I won't mind. That would only mean more stuff for us to play with.

I appreciate the motive of assuring people it will have depth, but what does this have to do with dead space 3? We haven't even seen gameplay of cyberpunk yet so what are we comparing it to? Like how would people know if the game is dumbed down?
