John Bedford (Modojo): If we look at some of our favorite titles on the App Store, they all have an art style that's immediately recognizable as belonging to a particular developer. The eyeball-melting neon hues of Hexage's Robotek are also to be found in Radiant Defense, and no-one can mistake a Radiangames title for anything else when they see one. Similarly, anyone who fell in (or out) of love with Tiny Tower will immediately recognize the gorgeous pixel people crafted by NimbleBit for their new game Pocket Planes.
Chris Buffa (Modojo): Here we are, the best iOS games of the year. We started with a list of 200, whittled that down to about 100, then the gloves came off, as we fought to include certain titles and said painful goodbyes to others. The result is a snapshot of 2012, the 50 iPhone and iPad games that stood out the most. That said, join us each day as we make the countdown. On that note, it's time for games 30-21.
"NimbleBit has just slashed the in-app purchases for Tiny Tower, Pocket Planes, and Pocket Frogs by 50 percent until this Sunday. That means users have the ability to buy some extra coins or bucks to grow their plane and skyscraper empire at half the usual rate." - Charles Ferrendelli
