Persona 4 Golden: PlayStation Vita vs. PS2

New release versus 2008 debut.

PS Vita looks slightly better. Not sure if I'd buy it for the Vita since I JUST got P4 a month ago.

MasterCornholio4705d ago

It appears a lot sharper but everything else looks about the same. I never had a chance to play this title so the Vita version is
Great for me.

YUP, if you've never played the game. The Vita version is without question your best option considering the bonus content.

Xof4705d ago

Not quite everything. I, for one, am NOT a fan of some of the new backgrounds.

I have an unopened copied of P4 at home that I had for about two years now. I was still playing P3Fes at the time and I was still getting other games so I never even opened it up. I might just wait until I get a PSV this holiday season and then get P4G. Then I'll see if anyone wants to buy an unopened copy of P4 for PS2.

I can't wait for it, never finished it on PS2 and my launch PS3 died last week and got replaced by a slim model. Hopefully, with the Vita's more powerful hardware and the fact that Vita games are not restricted by the size of the medium, this game will have the complete P4 experience with some bonuses rather than a slightly scaled down version with bonuses like P3P.

Theres no need to be hopeful - it has that. +40% more voice acting.

Hicken4705d ago

Well, I'll just have both.

The textures look better.. then again maybe the real quality of the PS2 has been diminished because it's analog?

Check out the floor mat textures and grass..

IDK, the increase in texture was quite noticeable for me except on the 3rd to the last comparison.

This isn't my type of game though just kinda weirded out that most haven't noticed much.

Hmm

Vita version looks sharper, higher resolution, and the colours seem to come through a lot better. Textures are higher resolution too.

4 is my favorite Persona so I’m hyped for a remake. I’ve played Golden a few times and the original a couple times so I’m ready for the remake

P4 Golden literally justified the VITA at the time (incredibly slick on that OLED display as well... huge memories for me). P4 on PS2 was awesome (I played it on my BC ps3 at the time) but Golden elevated it, again- that screen and the intimate feel of playing it on a handheld made it feel way less dated.... I love that game. That and Ys memories of Celceta, Killzone and some of the other incredible games made the VITA intensely memorable even if mostly due to the name (same fate as the Wii U) nobody knew what it was initially and it went by the wayside (idiots blame the cards but literally nobody but a few loud people on forums cared about the cards, mostly because they were hoping to pirate, one small cheap card held tons of games- it was never a problem)

Damn straight it did, I bought it on a whim when I was in a Gamestop one day and saw it on sale. I played the shit outta that game. Another one was Zero escape: Virtues Last Reward. If it was just for those 2 games, the console was worth it.
