Those are truly some great posters! Nice work. :)

I like the Halo 4 poster best: "Wake up John"

monkeyfunx4748d ago

These are awesome! My favourite's the 'Remember Reach' one. Must get back into Halo. I miss it. :(

Hardlydan4748d ago

Some great artwork there. I'm glad you didn't use the far too often abused word "awesome". Nonetheless these works are far far far superior than anything I could possibly manage. They are in fact pushing towards playing what once for me was for me a much loved franchise. Was Halo 2 any good?

MoreConsole4748d ago

In my humble opinion, Halo 2 has the worst campaign in the franchise.

And by the way, I very nearly used the word 'awesome' to describe the posters! Glad I didn't!

I have to disagree with you.

Reach's was much, MUCH worse. Technically and plot-wise, it was terrible.

You could BREEZE through some of the missions on Legendary within 12 minutes from how the missions are structured. There was a promise where there would be much larger-scaled battles taking place; didn't happen. The characters weren't memorable, and I, myself, am a die-hard Halo fan who remembers every inch of dialogue and character development from the Campaigns. There was never a moment where you were with ALL the Spartans at one time during gameplay; the most was the first mission, but Jun was absent since he was in a Falcon. Because of this, you didn't have enough time to really bond with the team as a WHOLE, since you're always split up.

Halo 2's, on the other hand, was a masterpiece in comparison, but not perfect, either. The AI was a challenge, the Covenant had a civil war that you had to go through in the heart of HIGH CHARITY, of all places, plus the flood invasion of the said mega-structure. You played as the Arbiter, with a fresh perspective of the Halo universe, seeing what it's like to fight with Covenant allies for the first time.

Plus, the scarab gun easter egg! =D

@ShottySnipa417
I disagree. While I loved playing the campaign from 2 different perspectives, Halo 2 had the worst pacing and AI in any Halo game. On Legendary, the game was a total cheating mess. There were parts of the game where you basically spwaned and died immediately because of the cheap difficulity and design (e.g. Gravemind). What surprises me most, is that Halo 2 had "Quarntine Zone" and that level had the worst level design out of all the Halos but people never mention it.

What I loved most about the Halo 2 campaign, is that it had an alien feel to it. Most of the levels had a very strong sci-fi feel to them. And the soundtrack <3

Dear God it's been 4 years since infinite and no official update on anything lol.

Tacoboto4d ago

No official update on anything?

They replaced studio leadership
They changed the studio name
They announced the change to UE5
... all while supporting Infinite

The support to Infinite isn't what it originally should have been but they've still been providing tons of official updates over the years, and as recently as two months ago added a brand new weapon.

GamerRN3d ago

I think remaking Halo Combat Evolved, and going to 2 and 3 again, will help give the studio an idea of how to make a Halo game feel like Halo again

Tacoboto3d ago

Infinite did feel like Halo, that's not what the complaints were...

The complaints were almost literally everything else. Monetization, netcode and desync, the campaign structure, story, and single biome, the weaker-than-expected post-launch content.

InUrFoxHole3d ago

Gotta agree. Infinite felt like halo.

Profchaos4d ago

Dev times in modern days 4 years of silence isn't unheard of when things are running smoothly.

And around 6 months ago 343 did show a tech demo of ue5 using halo assets so it's not radio silence.

Given all the shake ups i am more surprised we're getting anything next year at all.

RaidenBlack4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

They coulda started with Halo 3 remake ... I know Halo CE remaster was not proper with the art style but still, remaking after a remaster seems dull, when Halo 3 and Reach have started to show some age.

PhillyDonJawn4d ago

Yeah I hate they used Halo reach artstyle. Hope this remake feel authentic yet fresh

--Onilink--4d ago

Probably the simplest to work around with. They are reportedly doing it in UE5, so its just as much an Anniversary thing, as its probably the studio getting familiar and setting up their tools and processes in the engine with an actual game, to facilitate the development of the next Halo

Profchaos4d ago

I'm guessing combat evolved has a smaller scope in general the later half of the game features a ton of backtracking and reused assets making it a easier game to remake on a deadline

Its also a better choice if this is the first game to be multiplatform mind you I think it's pretty much a given that anyone with a passing curiosity has played this by now in some way be it pc or brought a used console for a few bucks

darthv724d ago

This will likely come to PS5 at the same time. 25 years of XB.... shared with PS.

Obscure_Observer4d ago

It´s gonna be among best sellers on PS Store next year regardless.

raWfodog3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

I would love to see Lost Odyssey come over to PS5. I would definitely buy that again. That was the first game that I played on my 360. Loved the story and battle system. One of the best JRPGs of all time in my opinion.

OG Destiny artist recalls Bungie’s “disgruntled” reaction to Halo 4’s art style change

Bungie at that time became the most wonderful bunch of hypocrites in the gaming industry. Knowing this now, gosh the entitlement they felt was out of this world.

Nothing like buying yourself from Microsoft because you don't want to be the Halo Studio anymore, and the FIRST THING you do is sign your next IP over to Activision, for a DECADE, while they are in the middle of ousting the heads of Infinity Ward so they can exert even more control over COD while screwing out the devs at IW...

Should've come as no surprise then that Activision gutted the content of Destiny 1 before launch and was a horrible partner through Destiny 2, until history repeated itself and Bungie had to split from Activision only to wind up in the arms of another major conglomerate that also doesn't know how to handle these unmanageable devs.

Profchaos52d ago

Tti their credit they praised the technical abilities of 343 and I remember at the time thinking halo 4 was a huge graphical leap above reach everything else was rubbish when I actually got to play it but there was no doubt it looked good for the 360 and is probably the best looking game on the system.

But ultimately I think bungie has always had a leadership problem and going independent ultimately proved this it's only getting worse with studio heads being outed by Sony for abuse allegations seems like all bungies past success has been in spite of management not because of it.

But really I think the bungie we have today is not the same one we had in that Xbox era of Bungie

PhillyDonJawn52d ago

I liked the artstyle change. For the most part. Something looked worse but most of everything else looked better. Weapons and vehicles for sure. The wraith come to my mind instantly.
And how can they get mad when the bungie changed it with Halo Reach?

Sciurus_vulgaris51d ago

I know a lot of people dislike Halo 4’s arts style, but there’s thing about it I like and dislike. Personally, the Halo 4 design of Master Chief’s armour is my favourite depiction of the character’s armour.
