Why the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Has Been so Harshly Criticized

Since its release in November, Skyward Sword has been both praised and harshly criticized. What are the reasons that so much negativity surround this Legend of Zelda title? Will it happened to the next Zelda game?

While I would have liked the option of traditional, I didn't have any problems with the motion controls. They worked fine for me, and I didn't mind them.

im not saying the game is bad with motion controls, i just saying that the main reason for the criticism was because skyward sword had no traditional controls.... which split the fanbase.

My only problem with the game/series and one that will probably never be changed is the lack maturity. I'm also tired of hearing a combination of whistle and beeps for voices.

Dowsing killed this game for me. I absolutely hated that feature. It felt like it was added to pad the game.

I consider it the worst Zelda 3D but this doesn't mean its a bad game. It just was too easy and the way the world map was made... felt like the sky city was a HUB and you could only travel to 3 different locations. It didn't have the free roam feel of past Zelda games.

The motion controls took a while to get used to but once they grew on me I realized how perfect they were for this game, especially when you're soaring through the sky on your bird. Still, Nintendo should have given gamers the option to use traditional controls. I peronally think it's an excellent game and one of the better Zelda installments.

i think zelda is the only title in history that would call getting a 93 on metacritic, "harshly criticized"

who cares about that, its a given it would have high scores... People actually really liked and played the game though, word of mouth is nothing but good.

I love Skyward Sword! That shit was like an anime just without voices. I hope they make another like it, or another Windwaker sequel that takes place after phantom hourglass

skyward sword was nothing less than perfect. motion controls were not a problem at all as i already know how to lift my hands, and move my arms, but besides being forced to use basic motor skills in this game, it was perfect.Best story out of any zelda game.
