Doesn't matter how many pre-order bonuses that they add towards this game, the new DMC game is still going to suck ass.

sypher4712d ago

Really? I think quite the opposite, Ninja Theory always deliver on interesting thought provoking and very fun games.

And i think this will be no different.

Uncharted2Vet4712d ago

"Ninja Theory always deliver on interesting thought provoking and very fun games" yea right, ninja theory makes some of the worst games i've ever played this gen.

GuyManDude4712d ago

Heavenly Sword was fun, but too short. Enslaved was less fun, and even shorter.

If DmC is less than 8 hours long people are going to freak out.

Tony-Red-Grave4712d ago (Edited 4712d ago )

@GuyManDude

DMC4 was one of those games that could have really and i mean REALLY benefited from being much longer. I would explain it but i feel it's better in something like a pm

@rezzah sparda and eva are in the game too. Only thing changed is that dante isn't half demon half human he's half demon half angel. Could be due ot the fact in the old series eva, dante's mom, didn't really have a background story.

Moncole4712d ago

When did you play it? Just because a game changes formulas doesn't make it bad, look how much RE4 changed from in RE games and look how good it is.

rezzah4712d ago

The story and characters basically remained the same, they continue story wise and never rebooted.

In this game everything has changed except for a few names, which is Dante, Ebony and Ivory, maybe rebellion will be there and finally I don't know if they are keeping his father's name (Sparda).

Tony-Red-Grave4712d ago

its not DMC it's DmC. same formula different game. But that aisde why are you so sure it'll be a terrible game?

gameplay? character? story? what is it exactly? the frames???

The_Devil_Hunter4712d ago

Your username is outstanding.

this game needs to be deleted from this universe..cancel that crap!!!!!!!

Yeah!/fake joy.
A second reason to show off my awesome photoshopping skills! How thrilling.
http://image.noelshack.com/...

I wish I had made this only to joke but unfortunately I was driven by my exasperation towards Capcom's practices. And it just had to happen to DmC. What a surprise!

I really thought it would be about costumes but exclusive weapons/perks and extra red orbs are much worse.
Way to go, Capcom! I don't remember having to pre-order any Devil May Cry game (or Onimusha!) in order to access every single weapon and upgradable skill.

Now, I still believe Ninja Theory can deliver a good game and I can't wait to see their E3 demos but, no matter how good or bad the game appears to be, nothing will change the fact that Capcom is ruining every single franchise it owns by making developers take content away from possible buyers.

The Devil May Cry franchise is known for its amazing gameplay mechanics and varied Devil Arms/firearms/powers. You don't simply tell your fanbase that some of those will be locked and still expect a lot of early sales.

Tony-Red-Grave4712d ago

whoa whoa whoa i think you got it all wrong. You're getting alt skins to existing weapons, if you read it said for dante's axe and scythe. As for early red orbs and the perks they don't really make a difference and aren't hindering a persons experience; Or as you said locking out experience.

Something small like red orbs and early perks doesn't lock anyone out of anything and it doesn't make a difference at all in the long run.

"The Devil May Cry franchise is known for its amazing gameplay mechanics and varied Devil Arms/firearms/powers" surely you played DMC4 and noticed a drop off in all these things correct?

As is DmC seems to be doing a good job since the angel/devil mechanic basically doubles/triples dante's moves and weapons.

"in order to access every single weapon and upgradable skill."

see the top for this. The pre order bonus is simply a thank you for pre ordering and it isn't exclusive weapons just alt skins for existing weapons. As for the skills getting them early doesn't mean you don't get them at all.

"Now, I still believe Ninja Theory can deliver a good game and I can't wait to see their E3 demos but, no matter how good or bad the game appears to be, nothing will change the fact that Capcom is ruining every single franchise it owns by making developers take content away from possible buyers."

like i said doesn't seem to be the case with DmC right now but i hope i'm not proven wrong. hopefully DmC can be a great game in it's own respect and gains it's own fanbase. Can't wait to see what NT can do with the story and character developments

Croash4712d ago (Edited 4712d ago )

I knew I'd seen your name before. We talked about DmC in private exactly a year ago. Funny :D

Anyway, thanks for the reply!
Nothing I had read made me think about different weapon skins. Just look at the wording : "receive the exclusive bone weapons and character perk."
"Exclusive" applies to both the weapons and the perk, meaning that at least one perk will be (at first?) unavailable to those who won't get this DLC code. As for the weapons, neither Amazon nor GameStop mentions skins in their pre-order bonus information.

Now, the way I see it, it gives the ability to transform 3 of Dante's weapons into something that looks different. Will you play differently with them? I have no idea. But when one reads "Samurai devastators", one may think it makes your weapons more efficient.

Dante switching weapons is one thing. Dante choosing a weapon's modification is something else. We still don't know how big the upgrade system will be. What if you could buy weapon modifications instead of the usual "Level 1->2->3" (Ifrit shotgun, Beowulf axe or whatnot). Bone/Samurai modifications would fit in there.

I'd really like to have some clarification on this pre-order matter as I now have doubts about what it truly is about because of your comment.

However, I will not approve of this "free orbs" incentive. It's almost like those paid souls DLC for Dante's Inferno! It's not about giving advantages to others, it's about missing the point of the game. You're supposed to play and get better in order to unlock skills :/ I just don't like the idea of giving them to you before you even know how jumping works D: !

Also, I don't understand why GameStop talks about 3 points to upgrade Dante, his weapons, and buy objects, while Amazon talks about a lot of red orbs for the exact same purpose. Please, someone, enlighten me. Why would two different experience systems be used for the same thing?

Anyway, I'll be keeping an eye on DmC's E3 demo and hopefully the game will look better than ever. As for the story and character development, this is the one thing that Ninja Theory has been really good at so I have high expectations.

Tony-Red-Grave4712d ago (Edited 4712d ago )

so basically we don't know what most of the pre order means until future notice? at best it's just a skin for the already existing weapons, which the amazon one seems to imply, at worst it's locked content.

I can't really remember a year back when i PMed about DmC lol so sorrry if i can't remember you as easily. So far though from the seems of it i imagine the level up system with the upgrade points is basically what proud souls were to DMC4.

though this doesn't make sense to me that much. Maybe each weapon/trigger has a different leveling mechanic in place? I can't tell maybe E3 will hold something on that.

As for the free orbs well that's just a small matter. I haven't pre ordered the game but if i did then i would just end up buying items with them anyways lol.

anywho if your looking for a site to watch capcom's stream of DmC just visit devilmaycry.org ad go to the forums theres a thread with a link in there.

edit: oh the lolz i was just talking about capcom adding dlc to add a original dante alt skin and watching mad fans buy it xD belmont said free but there ironies there.

TheRichterBelmont4712d ago

If there was a pre-order bonus, or FREE DLC to make Dante look like the REAL Dante from Devil May Cry, then maybe I'd play this.

Devil May Cry 5: Why You Should Start Over in 2025

It's been six years since Capcom dropped Devil May Cry 5, but it's still more than worth replaying in 2025 thanks to its rich gameplay.

Because the anime is on Netflix and we gotta ride that DMC in the news again wave.

CrimsonWing6910d ago

You sound like you’re just a ton of fun to be around.

franwex10d ago

It’s been sitting in my backlog for a while now. One of the first games I wanted to try for this current gen due to the long load times of previous gen. I’ll get around to it soon!

Zenzuu10d ago

One of the best, stylish, and fun action slasher on the system. You definitely should get to it, as soon as you can.

solideagle9d ago

they are taking way too much time with DMC6...

VersusDMC9d ago

The DMC5 team went on to make Dragons Dogma 2, the DMC director (3,4,5) left capcom to make an action game at another studio and the rumor is that a DMC remake is next...so i wouldn't hold my breath on DMC6.

ZeekQuattro9d ago

Everytime its on sale I think about buying it but never do. I only played the orginal and somr of 3 so I guess that's part of it.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC373d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos372d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Cacabunga372d ago

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer373d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

monkey602373d ago (Edited 373d ago )

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya373d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde373d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP372d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.
