Corsair Vengeance K60 Keyboard Review - TGH

TGH writes "Corsair’s range of “Vengeance” PC gaming peripherals may have failed to leave the lasting impression on us last time with the “M90 Mouse“ and “Vengeance 1500 Headset“, but their cheaper mechanical keyboard successfully projected its tagline onto our fingers as we clacked its fancy keys."

My friend just got this and I really didn't like it. It feels really cheap, the keys are very cheap plastic and tbh it is butt ugly when you see it for real.
However, my brother has the K90 and it's a different beast all together, still not pretty imho but far better quality looking and feeling than the K60.

The K60 and K90 are in a fairly similar price range and should feel exactly the same. Both keyboards use the Cherry MX Red keys with the only known differences from the top of my head being the K90 packs macro keys, backlighting and a full wrist rest with no contoured WASD cluster. Purely because the K60 was designed for FPS/RTS gamers with the K90 being more situated toward MMO guys.

The site should be getting the K90 in for review sometime this month so I should be able to but your opinion to the test soon enough :)

I know they both use the same switches, but the actual keys are made of cheap feeling plastic on the K60 but on the K90 they have a nice rubbery feel.
I dunno I was just disappointed by it but the K90 was nicer.
Personally I have a SideWinder X4 and cant see any reason to upgrade, I love it.

Wonder how this keyboard compares with the Eclipse II. In my current setup I use a Saitek Eclipse II keyboard combined with a MS Sidewinder mouse, the Eclipse II is really starting to show it's age. It's been a great keyboard, but I'd like to move on to one of those mechanical keyboards, though I'm not sure one of the Corsairs would be the best choice.

I mostly play RPGs such as the Elder Scrolls series which usually use the FPS setup for moving, so if I did grab this keyboard, I'd probably go with the ones aimed at the FPS crowd.

Generally gaming keyboards are designed for competative play where the slight perks of the mechanical switches start to show their uses. If you're just playing single-player then you'll have no real need for those hyped response times etc. But mechanical keys just feel really nice to use whether you're just typing or gaming.

Thanks for the tip. The nicer feel of mechanical keys is why I'm planning a mechanical one for my next keyboard. Even though I'm more into single player games and only compete online rarely, I still prefer gaming keyboards for the nicer feel and durability over standard keyboards. If you do a lot of heavy gaming on the PC, the durability of more expensive keyboards will pay you back, so I think they're worth the extra money.

Not sure yet if I'll go with this one, but the <$100 price on Amazon makes it a very attractive option.

I dunno fellas, you get what you pay for apply s pretty heavily for stuff like this. Ive been the owner of a Deck - The Legend Toxic board for the past year and it destroys my original Razer Black widow. The build quality is solid as hell, all keys are straight blacks (No click) and individually lighted and replaceable , warranty is long and also covers modding of the board itself.
But the price tag was wow at first, the rest is history :)

Corsair are pretty renowned for their build quality, durability and warranty. All of their Vengeance products come with a 2 year warranty and while the headset for example doesn't feel like you've paid for build quality, it more than certain tanked a lot of damage.

We've tried 3 of their gaming products now and they're all the same, they're sturdy pieces of kit.

Corsair K100 AIR - review (Sector)

The new Corsair K100 AIR is primarily a gaming keyboard, but that may not be its only purpose. It looks great and is therefore suitable for work, which is helped by a very good typing experience and quality switches. You also don't have to use it only for a PC, but it can also be easily connected to phones or consoles.
