Yeah, PC gaming only made $18.5 billion last year. It was only the highest revenue ever for it.
Diablo 3 only sold 3.5 million in 24 hours to be the fastest selling PC game ever.

Yeah, PC gaming is dead...

NYC_Gamer2332d ago

Lol,people who claim PC gaming is dead like to ignore that 18.5 billion posted last year....PC gaming has went digital...Why should blizzard or any company deal with retail?they could make more profit selling digital products and not share a dime with local stores..

MAJ0R2332d ago

Remember that 3.5 million isn't even including digital sales.

Having to sift through the garbage approved on this site is getting tiring. Yet another article from a person that has absolutely no clue what they are talking about.

It would literally take 15 minutes of research to show just how silly this opinion piece truly is. Steam is mopping up in PC gaming. Can we please mark this trash down so just maybe a moderator will fail it for lack of knowledge and a waste of bandwidth?

27 articles submitted 10 failed. Maybe that's a hint for N4G owners and operators.

As a console only player, I resent that comment... but you're probably right. ;p

For those of us who live in the 21st. Century we use the New Technology of Digital Downloads and The Cloud to play games.

"Who the Hell still uses DISC anyway.....Cavemen"?

* Even with AAA MMO after AAA MMO being released,
* Diablo III selling 7 million units in a week, PC Gaming doing $19 Billion in sales,
* On target to pass Nintendo, Sony, and MS all combined by 2015,
* With the most phenomenal game ever made DAY Z setting the PC world on fire,
* Along with Guild Wars 2 and about 15 other AAA PC Exclusives yet to be released this year,
* TV's being made with built in Cloud services
* Tablets and iPhones killing hand helds.

we still get the stupid "is PC Gaming Dead Articles". Are you serious or just that STUPID!

Consoles have one foot in the grave buddy and the Cloud and the PC have a shovel and plenty of dirt to move.

I actually feel sorry for those who can't see that this is the END GAME for consoles.

Game Over, no reset just PERMA-DEATH!!

I gonna say this author got exactly what he wanted in your response. And consoles aren't going anywhere. Neither are tablets or phones. This site is baiting. And you bit.

Edit: enough with the pc elitism. the word would be transcend my friend. in the end, its only fun and games. or at least it should be.

Hicken2331d ago

I might have agreed with you... but I don't.

Lots of people still use a disc, particularly those not willing to give up their rights as consumers just yet. But that's a console thing, mostly; PC gamers, apparently, have been giving up their rights for years.

Cloud gaming is NOT going to replace console gaming. If it does, good luck playing anything when your internet goes down. And good luck with the same quality.

Yes... PC, X360, PS3, Wii, Iphone, Android gaming are all going to be dead on 21 December 2012 according to Nostradamus.

Kamikaze1352332d ago

Which is how most PC gamers buy their games for anybody who isn't aware. I'm sure it easily sold over 5 million.

Terms of Quality? It's getting worst... stuff is getting rushed.. not in PC.. everywhere.. it's everything for money then anything else... each day it's worst... gaming is not the same.

Gran Touring2332d ago

definitely. Developers would rather meet a deadline than spend more time on polishing their products. And they've certainly been abusing their ability to add patches and DLC post-release. It's gone from patches to enable or fix issues "day-one" (which could certainly be avoided with proper testing) to charging for locked content on the least in the worst cases.

Psychotica2332d ago

Not for me it's not. Now that Gamestop sells Steam vouchers I have been trading my 360 & PS3 games in for them.

allyc4t2332d ago

Not even close. Ever heard of Steam?
