Just Cause dev working with Square Enix on "ground breaking" open world action game

I paid $2.50 for Just Cause 2 on Steam about a year or so ago. It was worth $2.50. It's PROBABLY worth up to $19.99. There's a lot of fun and replay-ability, but it just grew tiresome for me.

What they created is quite solid (it even ran very impressively on the consoles), but it needed more variety and to have the cutscenes and voice actors thrown into oblivion. lol

It can definitely grow tiresome. Honestly, if you play the demo a few times....well, you've pretty much seen it all and experienced JC2.

Maybe we can get Just Cause 3 with Geomod and Euphoria...and make the black market cost less and add cheats. Basically just steal all the best mods from JC2 and make them standard

@gatormatt80 Yeh do it, I picked it up early last year for about £15 on 360. Some parts get a bit tedious, but it is a lot of fun and a very nice to look at game. Oh and jets are awesome.

If they can make the map even bigger then JC2 then I will be impressed. I mean having the LOST island in there where your plane actually blows up when you get near was just one of the great things hidden away in JC2...wonder if they would consider doing a FRINGE themed event in JC3.

The only thing they need to do is breathe some life into the map and focus on the gun mechanics. Hopefully it won't go over the top like what happened with Saints Row 3.

I hope they will leave something as silly as co-op or online out of the next JC game untill they can give the map some life and focus on other small problems like the gun mechanics. It should be the last thing they add.

Not sure I would describe coop and online as silly.. infact, co-op would be about the best feature they could add to Just Cause.

Apart from that I agree, breathe some life into the environment and polish up the core gameplay.

Lets not forget they could turn around in the end if they did add it and say "Oh the reason theres not much life in the game is because we thought having your friend with you would satify you more"....obviously not worded like that but basicaly giving them an excuse not to work on the needed features of the game

@MikeCosgrove - I mentioned Co-op should be in JC3 on another article and I stand by the fact they would not have to sacrifice any development time for the singleplayer if they just allowed a second person to run around it with you. There really doesn't have to be any sort of special Co-op only missions, or activities, so long as you can run around the same world together.

You really think it's that easier to add co-op.....wow you don't really know anything about how programing works do you.

Look at Skyrim Bethesda even said they wouldn't do it because it would cause a lot of problems which would ruin the single player part of the game.

For once can we not let a single player game have a sequel without wanting co-op....something you yourself will probably go on for like a month then get bored and go on something else.

Add co-op to Just Cause and you basically have Crackdown...or Red Dead Redemption for that matter, open world co-op is boring, you need structure for it to be really fun..Horde, Firefight, L4D etc.

Loved Just Cause 2. Some of the most fun I've had in an open world this gen.

Just Cause 2, great game, add the mods and you've got some of the most fun you can have in a sandbox title. Fingers crossed they continue with that.

I love the superman mod where you can just fly around the world without a parachute or anything lol. So happy I picked up JC2 on Steam when it was 5 bucks...

I LOVED JUST CAUSE 2!!! It was such a great game to play. The story was not as bad as many people expected. But one of the most fun things to do in that game is get in a plane and fly past another and grapple onto it. I find that very entertaining.
