The wait is finally over for fans of Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl’s action roguelike The Binding of Isaac. The game is now 50% bigger with the new Wrath of the Lamb DLC, which will cost you $2.99 to pick up providing you have the base game, which is currently on sale anyway.
Our top 10 picks for best items in The Binding of Issac.
I love how the best powerups in the game aren't on this list. Where is the nail, which increases your damage, lets you break rocks on touch, and grants you a soul heart every use? What about brimstone, which literally just obliterates everything in its path? What about mom's knife, which kills things extremely quickly? What about tech-x? Polyphemus?
All of those items are significantly better than most, if not all of the items on this list.
A brief look at the Roguelike or Rogue-lite Genre, and a few suggestions for the best titles found therein.
I really don't like rogue-likes, I prefer thought out level design, enemies and items placed in certain locations. Obviously, some games like Minecraft and other building/survival games work well with random levels, however when it comes to action, fps, etc, I like good level design.
Welcome to VGU Plays The Binding of Isaac: Wrath of the Lamb. Join Dom as he returns to a game that caused him a lot of trouble back on his private channel. How will he do now when he steps back into the basement?
In episode 2, Dom keeps venturing through the basement with Cain. Is death on the horizon?
This DLC is amazing. Its only $3, and the game has changed so much its practically a new game. It is also definitely much harder, enough so that I haven't been able to get to Mom in the Womb even. There are so many new items, new rooms, surprises, plus the trinkets, new enemies and bosses. I highly recommend it to anyone who liked the original, especially if you like a challenge.
