Are Melee Characters Really Broken in Diablo III?

As a gamer, there are few things more disheartening than committing yourself to one particular class, only to find that it is completely broken. At first, you try to convince yourself that the people complaining in the forums do not possess the elite gaming abilities that you do – that you will succeed where they had failed. You spend many a sleepless night wandering the deepest recesses of the gaming world, hoping for that one elusive drop. Finally, you get it, and while it does make you a bit more formidable you still cannot survive the next difficulty level, despite having tried multiple builds. You watch in disbelief as others, far less skilled and geared than yourself, blitz through the enemies you cannot – all because they are playing a more well-balanced, or in some cases exploitable, class. Such is the maligned fate of Diablo III’s Barbarian and Monk – or is it?

great game,in the league with first two, incredible cop.worth my money.

Its like a fight between two guys one with a pistol and another with a club guess who wins? :) even in d2 is worthless to duel mele class with rangers but people just try and curse without realizing that will never be a balance between these two. D3 single-player difficulty intrigues me the real threat is PVP unbalance.

this guy just suck at game so hes randomly raging.ignore

MeatAbstract4779d ago

Isn't that just the way with every kind of RPG that has PVP. There will always be an inbalance, or atleast, the players will constantly complain there is.

Well Blizzard is known to support their game with patches to try and balance their games as much as possible. WoW was so horribly broken with pvp when it first came out, and now it's not so bad.

Diablo 4 and Diablo 3 teams change structure in an attempt to release less buggy seasons

Via Diablo’s global director of community Adam Fletcher, Blizzard is introducing new measures to improve the quality of season launches in the future. Across both Diablo 4 and the aging Diablo 3, fans of Blizzard’s games should all benefit.

If they didn't let the cellphone guy touch the 3rd one in first place, they wouldn't have to dance around like clowns trying to make money.

Xristo141d ago

We've been asking for less "boring" seasons... "boring"... not "buggy"... same ol' rehashed content just a different color is not working.

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein512d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Diablo III - Still a Huge Draw in the Face of Diablo IV

Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.

Palitera821d ago

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33820d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.
