Ratchet and Clank, good or bad?

Ever since it first outing on the ps2, platforming fans have had an amazing experience with Ratchet and Clank. But I never personally liked any of them. I don't know why, but that is the truth. Well I can honestly say that the latest addition to the Ratchet and Clank series has changed my mind, with its intuitive combat, engrossing characters, and entertaining story.

First things first, lets get the graphics out of the way. They are solid, nothing spectacular, nothing bad. The frame rate is good, and the environments are well detailed. Fluid animations, though simple they are, and good overall polish. Out of 10, I'd give it an 8.
Now onto game play. Shooting is fun. Plain and simple. The controls work and its not challenging to learn. Enemies can take some thought to bring down, and they're not afraid to make corpses out of you, And certain battles will really make you use your head. One thing I really enjoyed about Future Tools is that Insomniac made good use of the six-axis controls. They don't feel tacked on like they often do. Everything is solid, there is not really any problems that jump out at me, which makes me give it a 10.

The story, my favorite part of Tools of Destruction, features Ratchet and Clank (duh) going against the might of the Cragmite Empire, lead by Emperor Tachyon. The plot centers around Ratchet and his Lombax brethren, with cameos by pirates, physic robots, and Ps3/360 omen robots (you have to play to understand how that works.)

Now for the bad. It ended. Okay its not that good but unfortunately, it has a cliffhanger ending. Not really a bad thing, but it pissed me off. To be brutally honest, this game has no big faults, it just a perfect, simple game. I could go digging for problems, but really there's no need to.

So to wrap it up, is this game a perfect game? Of course not, but its as close as a game will come. It is simple, fun, and polished.

Just played this game. Love challenge mode and the skill points and golden bolts and the mega guns add ALOT of replayability. I think this game is pretty easy overall and so much fun. Simple, clean and crisp review.
