Zelda Tears of the Kingdom – Vehicles List

link flying in sky in zelda tears of the kingdom

During the March gameplay reveal trailers, it was unveiled that Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will give Link the Ultrahand mechanics, which allows him to construct and control vehicles. They seem to be a huge upgrade from Link’s simple horses and Master Cycle from Breath of the Wild. These vehicles will be making traversal across the plains of Hyrule a lot faster and also make travel across the new sky islands possible. Ultrahand and the Fuse abilities are just some of Link’s new tools.

All The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Vehicles

Below is the list of all vehicles Link is shown to be able to create so far.

Vehicle 1: The Wind-Powered Raft

The wind-powered boat was made in the gameplay reveal by combining logs that are able to float on water surfaces. To further enhance the raft’s functionality, fans were attached for directional propulsion. By activating these fans, Link showed his ability to get across vast bodies of water without the risk of swimming, potentially giving players access to parts of Hyrule way earlier than they would have gotten in Breath of the Wild.

Vehicle 2: The Levitating Raft

The levitating raft is an extension of the basic wind-powered raft, one that is designed for both water and air travel. Starting as any basic wooden platform with a sail for traversal over water, the player would be able to upgrade the raft by adding four Zonai fans positioned in the downward direction, thus granting it the ability to hover and fly across the air and removing the need of the Paraglider.

Vehicle 3: The Hot Air Balloon

Although not the fastest or most mobile vehicle, the hot air balloon looks like a fun option for players looking to reach the Sky Islands. Powered by a single fan, this balloon will allow Link to ascend to great heights, with the added benefit of leisurely surveying the vast game world below. It also looks to be a fun way of gliding past or getting the jump on an enemy camp on your horizon.

Vehicle 4: The Wind-Propelled Platform

From the vehicles we’ve seen so far, this wind-propelled contraption looks to be the fastest way to travel across the elusive Sky Islands. Equipped with a control module, players will be able to easily manoeuvre through the skies, avoiding any obstacles that may stand in their way. They could even add more Zonai fans for added lift. Keep in mind that once the fans’ charge ends, Link has nowhere to go but down.

Vehicle 5: The Car

The car vehicle is the only land-based vehicle we’ve seen so far from Tears of the Kingdom, and it seems to be a versatile option for players who prefer not to travel by horse. Apart from the car’s optional headlights, the notable difference between the two would seem to be the car’s ability to carry luggage along with it. Those Bokoblins might be much more hesitant to engage when they see Link driving around with tons of explosive barrels on board!
