Recipes in a book in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Throughout The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll have ample opportunities to forage for food items and cook. While many cite this in-game feature as a point of relaxation, you’ll find that cooking also has its uses, from restoring Link’s health to raising his body temperature.

How Do You Cook in Tears of the Kingdom?

The process of cooking in Tears of the Kingdom is similar to what we saw in Breath of the Wild. To prepare a hearty meal, you’ll just need to find a pot and light a fire beneath it. This can be done by using flaming weapons, including a couple of common ones:

  • Torch
  • Fire Arrow

Once your fire is lit, you can add your ingredients to the pot. From your inventory, equip Link with each ingredient you want to add, then throw them in the pot to cook your meal. You need a cooking pot to use the cooking mechanics, just like Tears of the Kingdom’s predecessor, Breath of the Wild.

With the addition of Link’s new abilities in Tears of the Kingdom, you can also fuse ingredients with weapons. While this doesn’t always enhance their power, it can be a neat way to throw tomatoes, so to speak.

Food and elixir recipes are great for increasing stamina, getting cold resistance, getting an attack boost, getting heat resistance, increase defense, and much more. Cook up with different ingredients like Hyrule Herbs, Ironshrooms, Bokoblin parts, Restless Cricket, and anything else you can find. Cook up delicious dishes and make Link invincible.
