This guide will provide several spoilers to the story of Tears of the Kingdom, so those players who want to experience the story themselves should look away. For those whose curiosity is too great, this guide will let them know if Zelda is evil, why this might be the case, and where she is in the main story.

Does Zelda Turn Evil in Tears of the Kingdom?

Thankfully no, Zelda is not evil in tears of the Kingdom.

Players may think this because there have been sightings of Zelda committing misdeeds reported by villagers all over Hyrule. However, a side quest proves to players that this isn’t the real Zelda.

Why Do Players Think Zelda Turned Evil?

By going through the Tears of the Dragon side quest, players can see the memories of Zelda. One of the memories shows how a Geruda had once attempted to imitate Zelda to murder Queen Sonia in the past. It seems that while Zelda was able to stop this attempt, that didn’t stop others from trying to imitate Zelda for their ends as time went on.

Where is Zelda During Tears of the Kingdom?

By completing the Tears of the Dragon side quest, players will learn that Zelda is the Divine Dragon of Light that currently circles the skies. In an attempt to reforge the Master Sword, Zelda transformed into the Divine Dragon of Light and absorbed the sword into herself, where it could be made whole again.

Some may be disappointed to see Zelda as a dragon rather than a character this time around, but we’re glad that she hasn’t turned to evil after all this time. She’ll still aid Link in his quest, whatever her form and players will always be glad for the help. Plus, given the good reviews the game has been getting, we don’t think her absence will ruin the experience.
